National Meeting V: APEKSI toward a Better Decentralization
APEKSI or the Association of Indonesian Municipalities City Governments in Indonesia, held its National Meeting V (Munas) from July 26-28, 2016. The event was hosted by Jambi City Government and held in Abadi Hotel Convention Center. The event is regularly held every 4 years and the last one has produced new management structure, recommendations and working program for 4 years ahead. Regarding to the outputs, this national meeting has produced 259 points of recommendation in various sectors: apparatus or personnel, local finance, infrastructure, spatial and living environment, education and health. APEKSI highlighted the regional autonomy that has been implemented for one decade. Based on aspirations from members and facts in field, policies implemented in regional level have not run well and even caused horizontal and vertical conflicts.
