DELGOSEA Council Meeting in Bangkok: Action Plan Sharing and Networking
DELGOSEA Council once again had its annual network meeting on May 16 – 17, 2016, in Bangkok, Thailand. As the first meeting of the year, members of DELGOSEA came together and shared updates about their action plans as well as decentralization development within their countries. During this meeting, Laos conveyed their intention to visit one of Thailand’s municipalities to learn about solid waste management to be replicated in Vientiane. UCLG ASPAC and KAS already agreed to support this by providing resources. The plan was also set for a workshop on solid waste, culture and bottom-up good governance in October 2016. ASEAN Mayors Meeting was another point discussed in this meeting. It was agreed to hold the forum in Laos this year to follow up the previous ASEAN Mayors Forum 2015 in Makassar. Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam and Myanmar each shared their action plans for this year, too.
