Hanggar Irawan, or Hanggar, is the newly recruited Finance and Accounting Manager. He is working to ensure adherence to the Standard Operational Procedure of Finance and Accounting, make further improvement on financial systems and operations, develop and implement effective, efficient, high quality and accountable financial standards and practices, and maintain strong and continuously growing financial portfolios that support and sustain the overall organisations’ programs and operations. With strong background in Accounting from University of Trisakti in Indonesia, Hanggar has recorded 22 years of experiences in financial management, mostly in international funded projects such as by ADB, World Bank, DFID, Norway and multi donors. He has developed his skill in grants management and more advanced financial management. He devoted my knowledge and experiences in many projects developing robust financial system that are transparent and accountable. His motto is using finance to connect with people. When asked about expectation when joining UCLG ASPAC, Hanggar mentioned that he wants to learn more from International organisation that reach out hundreds of cities in Asia Pacific. Rendy Primrizqi, or Rendy, is Resilience and Public Space Officer. Graduating from Urban Design Masters Programme of Universitas Indonesia, Rendy is trusted to lead the work in highlighting the importance of comprehensive public space as an integral part within cities while also focusing on the effort of building city resilience to various stakeholders. Having experiences in the participatory approach process and dealing with urban issues, Rendy is able to communicate well with stakeholders to help elevating those aforementioned efforts. His hobby in amateur photography also give him advantage and help in ‘ice-breaking’ process to get to know the people better in grassroots level. His previous journey in Resilient Jakarta Secretariat had let him experience the complexity of delivering resilience concept to its realisation in the city level, from bridging the gap, aligning current efforts, to implementing those concepts into action. Having also participated in several international conferences related to the city resilience and other urban
issues, Rendy hopes that his understanding on the issues can contribute in the success of the Resilience and Public Space Programme in UCLG ASPAC. Irene Purman Cahyani, or Irene is the Field Officer of CRIC programme for Sulawesi region (Gorontalo and Ternate city). Holding a bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering, Irene will support the two cities to become pilot cities that are resilient and inclusive of climate change. In regards to this, Irene has proven track record in relevant experiences such as doing advocacy from district to provincial level and even to national level in water sanitation and hygiene sector, public health promotion, climate change adaptation. Irene also has knowledge and experiences on how to increase the water debit with simple techniques and how to make sea water become fresh water using 'desalinator' for community level who has no access to clean water and only salt water (it has been replicated by some communities, barangay, and government in the Philippines). When asked about her expectation of joining UCLG ASPAC, the travel and sport lover mentioned, “I hope that I can contribute and do my best for UCLG ASPAC through the CRIC programme.” Erickson Sidjabat, or Erickson, is also the Field Officer of the CRIC Project for Kalimantan area. Erickson will help to provide technical assistance on integrating climate resilience issues into the mid-term development plan at the pilot cities in the respective region, assist in the development of climate action plan and/or sectoral action plan including mapping GHG emission at the pilot cities in the respective region, and facilitate CRIC Project’s integration in the Regional MidTerm Development Plan at the pilot cities, among many others. With Master’s degree on Administration and Public Policy from Universitas Indonesia, Erickson has recorded experiences in taking up roles such as Community Development and Advocacy Specialist. Joining UCLG ASPAC, the travel and culinary lover mentioned that he would like to become a good friend for CRIC Programme Team and to bridge UCLG ASPAC with relevant stakeholders under the programme. Shafira Naomi Hermanus, or Shafira, is an intern of Communications. Currently a final year undergraduate student majoring in Public Relations, at the Faculty of Communication Science in Padjadjaran University, Shafira is helping UCLG ASPAC to optimise its communication channel and objectives by helping to plan social media activities and campaign for UCLG ASPAC activities, conduct literature review and data collection (primary and secondary) needed to create information, education, communication materials on selected themes/topics, good practices, mayor’s achievements. During her academic life, Shafira has also been active as a Deputy Chief of Academic and Professional Department at Public Relations Student Organisation, Project Officer (President) of one of the biggest and acclaimed public relations competitions The 8th Padjadjaran PR Fair (PPRF) 2019 carrying out the theme of “Advocating Healthy Family Functions for Suicide Preventions and Supports”. Shafira has been developing a great interest in Communication for
Development as she believes that communication efforts can complement a lot of essential factors involved to establish sustainable solutions regarding social issues. Iqlima Kian Badillah, or Iqlima, is an intern that works with Executive Assistant of Secretary General. Graduating from Wuhan University for Master’s Programme in International Business, Iqlima was able to join a meeting with Mayor Tri Rismaharini, President of UCLG ASPAC, got involved in report writing and summary of webinars, acted as liaison and communicate with members of UCLG ASPAC, and got involved in research. Joining as an intern, Iqlima expects to gain concrete knowledge about development issues in Indonesia as well as in the global area, which can act as a precursor for me to perform and work in the development sector, from collecting data for development research purposes and communicating in a diverse community. Iqlima loves traveling, listening to music, watching movies, and taking photos. Boonyanin Pakvisal, or Genie, is Communications intern at UCLG ASPAC. Genie recently graduated from Leiden University College The Hague with a Bachelor’s degree in ‘Governance, Economics, and Development’ and a minor in ‘Sustainable Urbanism’. Prior to joining UCLG ASPAC, Genie has interned at the Royal Thai Embassy The Hague and is also working as a reporter for the Southeast Asia Globe magazine alongside this internship. Genie expects to be able to learn more about the tasks that the organisation carries out and help out with some writing, researching, and design tasks. During her free time, Genie enjoys taking photos and traveling.
