Hello from Secretariat
UCLG ASPAC is glad to announce its additional team members that will further strengthen the Secretariat. Two new staff and one intern have joined to help the Secretariat Team deliver the organisation’s work to members and partners. ERIKA Melva Manurung, or Erika, is the newly recruited Finance Officer with background in Accounting from Universitas Jayabaya. Her professional experience includes auditing, compliance, and monitoring evaluation at United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA). When joining UCLG ASPAC, she would like to learn new things, enhance her knowledge related to various programme in UCLG ASPAC and at the same time contribute her skills and expertise to the organisation. Her hobbies are traveling, sports, and reading. BETHARIA Raja Guk Guk, or Betha, is a Member Service Assistant. She is responsible in providing overall support to the work of Member Services and ensuring efficient and effective communication and coordination with members and partners. Betha has recently completed her master’s degree from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, majoring in public management. By joining UCLG ASPAC, she hopes she can extend her experience in multi-‐stakeholder partnership and collaboration. She also wants to have a
deep understanding of youth and tourism issues. She loves to spend her leisure time by playing the ukulele and watching Netflix. AFIF P. Jatiandana, or Afif, is a fresh graduate from Magister of Earth Science, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) or Bandung Institute of Technology. Joining UCLG ASPAC as an intern for CRIC Programme, Afif has solid knowledge on Satellite oceanography including GIS techniques, Air-‐Sea interaction, and Environmental oceanography. Prior to joining UCLG ASPAC, Afif volunteered at the Rumah Sahabat Salman and Syamsi Dhuha Foundation. He participated in the Student’s Units and actively contributed at MTCRC (Marine Technology Cooperation Research Center) in Satellite Oceanography Project. Afif, a certified scuba diver, expects that his skills and experiences can relate to the works of UCLG ASPAC. ANNISA Nisita, or Annisa, is a final-‐year Universitas Gadjah Mada student majoring in Urban and Regional Planning. She finds her passion in advocating for sustainability and other environmentalist initiatives, as reflected in not only her academic studies -‐ where she focuses on issues such as resilient cities and sustainable development -‐ but also in her daily life, where she implements a minimal-‐waste and eco-‐friendly lifestyle, of which she actively promotes within her network. One of her major personal goals this year is to contribute directly towards the betterment of other individual's livelihoods, thus she believes that UCLG ASPAC would provide a remarkable platform to realise that goal and widen the impact of her actions. During her internship in UCLG ASPAC, she is working on IUC (International Urban Cooperation) Asia programme. She hopes to gain a lot of newfound knowledge, learn to establish networks, and build skills that will help her toward her professional goals. MELATI Hupasandha Risangmaya, or Melati, is a recent graduate of Institut Teknologi Bandung’s (ITB) MBA programme who holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember. She is joining as an intern under the CRIC Programme. Her strong passion are on the areas of technology, business, and sustainable living. With the background knowledge and skills that she has, Melati is ready to contribute to the work of the organisation for the benefit of members and partners.
