Mumbai, formerly called Bombay, is a sprawling, densely populated city on India’s West coast. On the Mumbai Harbour waterfront stands the iconic Gateway of India, built by the British Raj in 1924. Offshore, nearby Elephanta Island holds ancient cave temples dedicated to Shiva. Established in 1926, the All India Institute of Local Self Government (AIILSG) is a premier autonomous research and training institution in India. The institute was recognized as an educational institution by Government of Maharashtra in 1971. The Institute offers several regular training courses in urban development management and municipal administration, which are recognized by the Government of India and several state governments. Successfully organized UCLG ASPAC’S CONFERENCE & EXCOM MEETINGS in India at Vadodara, Gujarat and Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala in the past. Successfully organised 1st and 2nd South Asian Cities Summit in New Delhi
