Holding Master degree on Political Communication, Ashep has had 12 years of working experience in various development related organizations, making him exposed to many development areas: governance, administrative reform, decentralization, access to justice, election, political representation, anti-‐ corruption, institutional capacity building and community development. He took the opportunity to build his network in state and non-‐state organizations, including the Indonesian Vice President’s office, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of State Apparatus and Administrative Reform, National Development Planning Agency, National Election Commission, Indonesian Parliament, state universities, local governments, and key civil society organizations in Indonesia. He has also enjoyed close professional networks while working with and at international agencies, such as UNDP, UNIC, DFAT, USAID, CIDA, KOICA, and GIZ.

Joining UCLG ASPAC, Ashep expects that his knowledge on Indonesian government and governance context covering government policies, strategies, regulations, and national key issues, combined with his background on communication, will contribute to the development of the Communication Division of UCLG ASPAC and benefit its members and partners.
