UCLG ASPAC Secretariat in Jakarta recently welcomed new members who will support UCLG ASPAC’s works in various fields. HENDRA Susila Adi is our new Training Coordinator for LOCALISE SDGs programme. In collaboration with LOCALISE SDGs Team, Hendra will be responsible for managing the overall training activities including designing and developing training programme and materials, facilitating capacity building events, as well as liaising with both government and non-­‐government organisations. Having a Master’s degree in Public Administration, Hendra has more than 15 years of working experience in development sector both in national and international settings, such as in UN agencies in Indonesia as well as local non-­‐governmental organisations focusing on poverty reduction, HIV/AIDS, and migration. Asked about his expectation when joining UCLG ASPAC, Hendra shared that he would like to partake in achieving UCLG ASPAC goals and at the same time to learn about public policy in relation to achieve SDGs and develop multi-­‐stakeholder partnership initiative in the implementation of SDGs localisation. BINTANG Oematan is our new Administrative Project Officer for Municipalities Network Policy Advocacy on Sanitation in South Asia programme. Holding educational knowledge in finance, banking, economy, and accounting, Bintang has shown experiences in budget preparation, travel arrangement, report development as well as other administrative support. Joining sanitation programme for South Asia sub-­‐region, Bintang is keen to learn more about this programme. Bintang has actively been involved in various social activities, particularly related to disabilities. In addition to that, Bintang has experience in various organisations, such as The Nature Conservancy, UNDP Indonesia, Global Fund, Project Hope Indonesia, and Korean Society Rehabilitation for People with Disabilities.


ANGGITA Syifa Khoirunnisa joins UCLG ASPAC as intern supporting LOCALISE SDGs programme. Anggita, is currently a bachelor degree student majoring in Urban and Regional Planning at Universitas Gadjah Mada, Jogjakarta (Indonesia). Under LOCALISE SDGs programme, Anggita is supporting the team in reviewing correlation between local development plan, regulation of ministry of home affairs, and metadata of SDGs indicators. Anggita hopes that she could apply knowledge, analytical thinking, and research skills that she has from college during the internship. Asked about her impression when joining UCLG ASPAC, Anggita, a fan of art and photography. She has enjoyed connecting and networking with staff members. IM Jeongyoon, or June, is our intern from Jeonju (South Korea). Having academic background in Economics and German Literature, June is assigned to support Member Services Division and acts as liaison between Jeonju and UCLG ASPAC. June hopes that by joining internship in UCLG ASPAC, she could learn about local governments’ work and international cooperation, which is in line with her plan to work at Korea Trade-­‐Invest Promotion Agency that promotes international trade. Finding Jakarta as a crowded city, June, an avid runner, loves the car free day regulation. “It feels like I become a marathon runner. Running on the street makes me feel good,” she said. In addition, she also enjoys meeting friendly people, as well as affordable milk tea and coffee and big shopping malls in Jakarta. KEVIN Bernard Sianipar joins Secretariat Team as an intern from Indonesia. Graduating from the University of Western Australia in Perth, Kevin took International Relations and Political Science as his major. Assigned to assist LOCALISE SDGs programme, Kevin is highly involved in City Diplomacy activity. Kevin hopes that he could apply his knowledge from university and at the same time learn about the role of local governments in achieving the global agendas such as SDGs. In addition, he hopes the internship opportunity would increase his chance of getting accepted in non-­‐government-­‐organisation field in the future. He personally thinks that UCLG ASPAC is suitable for university students or fresh graduates seeking for working experience for future jobs. ********************
