Global Partners United, Aiming for Development
Participants of the PFD, representing non-state actors, CSOs and LAs.
THE echo to make sustainable development a success has resounded all over the world. Development agencies within and across regions sit together, set common goals, and commit to pursue them. Driven by this spirit, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Local Authorities (LAs) from the European Union and partner countries with European Institutions and bodies united in the EU Policy Forum on Development (PFD) held in Brussels, Belgium, 21-23 March 2017. Attended by members across regions, the Global PFD meeting raised various themes of discussion, starting from calendar of activities 2017 to development and partnership issues. In the discussion, all members attending the forum stated their agreement that PFD, indeed, provides a platform to discuss relevant issues for all organizations involved and a space for dialogue with EU and its contribution to global sustainable development; however, it is also crucial to remember that dialogue is only a means; actions are needed to achieve bigger goal. Therefore, taking advantage of the PFD as a model to encourage a permanent dialogue with governments and stakeholders is strongly recommended.
