Interested in donating an item or service to the auction? For more details visit the library or call Kelly Walter at 570-966-0831. “‘I know most people like the 80’s or at least 80’s music. My hope is that our supporters would like to join us in celebrating both the decade and the library in one fun evening,” said Kelly Walter, Library Director. Let’s go back to the days of big hair, leg warmers and cassette tapes. The music is sure to be loud and great, and you are welcome to bring a friend or date. Don’t forget to get your tickets on sale now! Cost is $40 per person! Be there or be square!

Summer Reading Wrap Up The “punches” were really flying this summer, punches in the punch cards that is. There is no more keeping track of the books or minutes that you read. All you had to do was come to a program or check out material and you received a punch in your punch card. After your 10 punches were complete, your card went into a drawing to win a prize basket for your age group. The age groups were broken down into Children, Tween, Teen and Adult. The Children’s winner was Brycen Fry. Madison Grove won the Tween drawing and Levi Heintzelman won the Teen basket. The winner of the Adult basket was Jessica Safford. “Everyone seemed to like the punch card program! It was very simple for everyone. We had a total of 1,461 participants over 140 of those being adults which is a huge increase!!” stated Carol Grove, Summer Reading Program Coordinator. We really had fun with the theme, “Build a Better World”. Many random acts of kindness were performed. Some of these acts included making and handing out free lemonade and kindness snack mix, creating kindness bookmarks and hiding them in the library as well creating feral cat houses. We were busy building friendships, Lego structures, balloon cars, fidget spinners and Magna-Tiles structures Jessica Safford, Winner of a Summer Reading Basket just to name a few.
