EXHIBITIONS Until Sun 30 Jun The Body Observed: Magnum Photos Featuring over 130 works from the 1930s to the contemporary, The Body Observed explores how Magnum Photographers have turned their lens to the body, presenting works that examine a range of subjects from identity, intimacy, sexuality and ritual, to voyeurism and performance, among others £13 / £12, free for UEA / NUA students Sat 11 May – Sun 18 Aug W.G. Sebald: Far away – but from where? Mezzanine Gallery To mark what would have been the 75th birthday of W.G. Sebald (1944–2001), this innovative, interdisciplinary exhibition combines rare and unseen archive material. For the first time, the wealth of UEA’s archive collections and the Sebald Estate will be used to explore his use of photography.
The exhibition will also showcase works by Tacita Dean, Tess Jaray and Julie Mehretu that relate or respond to his writing £8 / £7, free for UEA / NUA students Sat 3 Aug – Sun 15 Dec Magdalene Odundo: The Journey of Things This major exhibition will bring together more than 50 of Magdalene Odundo’s works with a large selection of objects chosen by Odundo from across the globe and spanning 3,000 years. It will also showcase her largest piece, Transition II, made up of 1,001 individual suspended glass pieces. The exhibition will be designed by Sir David Adjaye OBE £8 / £7, free for UEA / NUA students

Fri 10 May – Sun 1 Sep John Christie: My Blue Heaven From a mysterious building, sliced diagonally as if by a giant knife, comes the sound of music: Fats Domino’s 1956 hit ‘My Blue Heaven’. Artist, filmmaker and publisher Christie was a frequent collaborator with art critic John Berger, working together on the BBC’s ‘Another Way of Telling’ and the 2017 East Anglian Book of the Year Lapwing & Fox: Conversations Between John Berger and John Christie

From summer 2019 Elisabeth Frink: Running Man Frink’s impressive sculpture, Running Man, 1978, is an image of humanity’s ability to strive against adversity. Following its inclusion in the exhibition Elisabeth Frink: Humans and Other Animals at the Sainsbury Centre, Running Man will be installed in the Sculpture Park. It will join Frink’s Mirage I and II as well as sculptures by Henry Moore, Lynn Chadwick, Liliane Lijn and Antony Gormley
