ife is all about the choices we as individuals make, and the path it leads us down. There are times when we make a decision, prevail at it and cross into another road that is full of happiness and success. Then there are other times when we stumble and find ourselves on a road that only led to a dead end. Although it may seem like a failure, in reality was an adventure that left you with wisdom. That dead end gave you an opportunity to stop in your tracks, turn around and embark on an entire new journey that was better then the one you imagined before. What would life be if we all followed the same path? That’s the beauty of making decisions, we all go on are journey, one that will set a

path of guidance for future generations to come. This yearbook is a collection of the roads you took throughout the 2015-2016 school. The football players can hear a loud road all around them, but they’re only focused on the game that’s unfolding right in front of them. They can smell the fresh scent of grass and dirt that’s under their feet, and hear the hard grunts of their team members that are working on the field. The crowd has gone crazy with excitement as wide receiver Cameron Parker tackles the opposing teams quarter back. The interception was only the first of many, as Parker continued to intersect plays all night. The energy from the game was felt on, and off the field, as the game quickly approached its last few minutes. “Being on the field is like no other feeling. The adrenaline pumps you up, and it’s amazing when you know that you helped bring home a win for your school, “ senior Briahn Agurirrella said.

The players all have high hopes for this season. They’ve put in countless hours in the sweltering son practicing each and every play countless amount of times. Although at times it seemed difficult and impossible, they persevered and created a bond with one another that is unbreakable. “These are all my brothers, I love them all,” junior Ryan Padilla said. They’ve shared tears over losses, shouts over victories, and created irreplaceable memories as one. This has been a strong season for our football team, with a winning streak of 4 so far. “These boys put in extraordinary work on and off the field. They have all worked their butts off, and all certainly earned their position out there [on the football field]. Its a pleasure training them,” Coach Leon said. Every game is a new opportunity for them to show off their skills and WOW the crowd. With each step they take on and off the field, they move further along on a road that will change their future forever.

Ready, Set Go

Starter Ramon Manning crouches down and prepares himself for the first play of the night. “All I keep doing is running the plays through my head making sure I know exactly what to do in any moment of the game,” Manning said. Running man Team mate Johnny Brooks hastily makes his way around the field as he prepares for the other team to attempt their touchdown. “At a point like that in the game, all I can do is get to my place and make sure that I block any player trying to score,” Brooks said. Punt Punter William Bryant, and an opposing team member watches in astonishment as his kick makes it through the field goal. “I practice day in and day out just for moments like this when the ball goes in, I love it, Bryant said. Defense All of the team members work together to protect the runner back as he makes his way past the 100 yard line. “It’s definitely hard but I know I can always count on my teammates to have my back, “ senior Blake Strickland said. Make way The Varsity team makes their way to field, as they are prepared to give the team one of their best football games yet. “I love the cheering every time we step out on the field, it’s everything to me,” junior Jose Griffin said. Touchdown catch Wide receiver Christian Padilla makes an unbelievable catch right in front of the touchdown line, in the last five minutes of the last quarter. “Everything worked out so smoothly, it was a clean pass and I love this team,” Padilla said.

Junior Varsity Adrenaline rushing through their veins, and excitement in their heart the junior varsity team sets out to leave their mark this 2015-2016 school year. These young boys have come to view themselves as one, as they recognized they’re only as strong as their weakest link. Everyday after school they go out and get dirty right next to the varsity players. For many of the players that have played football it is not really a major change, but for others it’s an entire new road that they’ve set out to overcome. They put their hearts and souls into each and everyplay, and with each trial they learn that nothing in life comes easy. “Practice does not make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect,” freshman Fidel Martin said.

Practice for days Xavier’s football players go in from both sides of Sophomore Glaston Mckenzie as they practice after school. “We dissect every single play, and make sure we are prepared for any advances any opposing team may try to make on us,” Mckenzie said. Interfering Xavier’s starter, player 1 Timmothy Hanzley catches the opposing teams pass scoring the win for the fourth game in a row. “I know I made the school, and my entire family proud. I’m just happy to be the one who brought the win home,” Hanzley said. Your team sucks The football team made a shocking decision last night as they entered with their rivals teams flag. Wide eyed and with gleeful spirits they chanted, ‘U is for U Lose’. “We thought we would have a little fun, especially since it’s our rivals. Tonight was definitely an eventful game,” team mate Stan Carter said.
