Ian Connor is a fashion desinger, model, and a consultant for Kanye West. He started from Tumblr and made a quick, lightning fast rise to being one of the most well known fashion mogul in youth. He started in modeling and was featured in Complex’s “Top 25 Under 25”. Then soon after became rapper’s Wiz Khalifa’s stylist and assistant. He blew up from that point of. One of his most well known fashion stunts was with Yeezy when he appeared in a Yeezy Season 1 presentation. From that he started working for Kanye West and Virgil ABolth creator of the brand “OFF-WHITE”. He is currently also managing up and coming rapper Playboi Carti. Migos members Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset love Versace, thanks to their hit song “Versace”. PaperMag spoke with the rap group to pick their brains on all things fashion. In an interview with PaperMag the group examined their own personal style, their love for all designer clothes including Versace, and what makes a good chain. When asked to define their personal style, Quavo had to say this, “Our fashion style is very legendary and classic. I feel like it’s different, I feel like everybody got our own different style to bring to the table. When we all come together as one, it just make it look so unique and different, and it’s something we all doing: trendsetting.” Takeoff also had to add that each members’ unique style is like “the Transformers – we come together from different scenes.” Quavo and Takeoff try to get the point across that when all the Migos comes together and they all showcase their own fashion they trend set for younger generations. Offset believes that their obsession with Versace rooted from when the group saw Tupac and Biggie wear it. The obsession is so obsessive that Quavo “can’t even go anywhere see without my Versace frames.” He adds that “I don’t go nowhere without them on. I can’t even live without them. Every time I throw them on, I see all the haters, and I see where the money at.” Migos wears many different designer labels but they prefer Versace. Takeoff said that “when you put it on, you just feel different.” Although, he later added that their closets are “flooded” with “Givenchy, all designer brands.” Migos is also well known for rocking their chains and they explain how to make a good one. The Migos chain according to Takeoff “got a lot of creativity in it.” Takeoff also gave credit where credit is due to Quavo for coming up with the design and drawing it on paper before they approached the jeweler.
