How To Be Confident
Learning to be confident as a teenager in this generation is one of the hardest tasks. If it’s not your peers at school making it hard, it’s the adults as well. Being confident is learning to take control of your life and your surroundings. It’s about saying this needs to change in order for me to grow.
Start Small Starting small is an easy and simple way to gain momentum in your journey to self love. Doing tasks such as cleaning or organizing your room, doing the laundry, planting a flower may seem trivial but they actually help you gain control over certain aspects of your life which leads to a gain in confidence. According to Express.co.uk, “Living simply is a clever trick to boost body confidence as being in clean spaces helps your body feel as if it has room to breathe.” Reassuring yourself with positive affirmations every morning and night leads to better thoughts about yourself. It can uplift and reassure your confidence in yourself and keep the confidence a constant thing. Being active is another way to begin a positive track to self love whether it’s walking your dog to going to the movies or the mall. It makes you feel better and gives you a sense of accomplishment. Moving Onto Bigger Things Along with easy steps there are more difficult mental and physical things that need to be accomplished. Putting yourself out there and opening yourself to criticism is important. It gives you an idea as to what confidence feels and looks like. It’s about ignoring others opinions and learning yours is the only one that truly matters. Getting rid of toxic friends and unsupportive people in your life is important to your own confidence and positivity. As cliche as it is, leaving people with unwelcomed and negative opinions is the best decision you will ever make. Your opinion is the most important. No matter what anyone says about you, it’s you who matters most to yourself. Learning that what you think is what affects you most will ultimately help you in the long run. Be positive not only to yourself but others. Treat everyone and everything with respect and be more optimistic.
