Considerations

● Brexit related complexities –

○ New EU VAT rules – Stock or company based outside the EU = tax collection and remittance burden falls on the marketplace and they must register for IOSS

○ Established marketplaces with an International seller base will register for IOSS. Newer marketplaces will not register for IOSS. E.g. to sell on Decathlon FR you will need to register for an EU company and move stock to the EU

● Logistics – Ship from the UK via any major carrier using IOSS

● Returns – Many returns providers who will offer returns from the EU

● Language – Use of freelance translators or students

● Compliance – DIT an excellent resource

● VAT – if using IOSS you don’t need to worry alternatively DIT can help introduce you to French accountants
