Greetings Sorors!

Congratulations to our newly elected Delegates who will represent AGO at the 94th Far Western Regional Conference. Thank you to the Ways & Means Committee, The Ivy Heritage Foundation, Inc and the Finance Team for your time and dedication invested to ensure we had a successful 95th Anniversary event Our small committee led by Soror Leslee Deanes Bryant and Soror Stephany Powell took on the mighty task to lead and serve with excellence Thank you!

Happy International Women’s Month!

Women’s History Month has been recognized nationally since 1987! This year’s theme is “Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories ”

During this month we will give extra attention to all of the amazing accomplishments of the strong and determined women in AGO. Every woman has a story to tell and gifts to share So get ready, because this month is about honoring magnificent ladies, and we are ready to celebrate it to the fullest!

SOME IDEAS ON HOW TO OBSERVE NATIONAL WOMEN'S HISTORY

MONTH

Put it in writing. Think of a woman you look up to and admire. She can be someone in your personal life or a public figure. Write her a letter describing the impact she has had on your life Have a girl's lunch. Lunch, breakfast, or dinner Having the chance to spend some one-on-one time with the lovely ladies in your life is a great way to reconnect and remind them how much they mean to you

Read up on women's history. There are some excellent museums dedicated entirely to the accomplishments of women.

“I want to build a community where women of all races can communicate and ... continue to support and take care of each other. I want to give women a space to feel their own strength and tell their stories That is power ”

-Beyoncé Knowles

Together we will continue to SOAR with excellence!

In Sisterhood & Service,

Cheryl Lynn Mason

Mood disorders are mental health illnesses that involve emotional challenges. Often, mood disorders cause intense feelings of joy (mania) or sadness (depression) that are hard to manage. While many people have emotional “ups and downs,” individuals with a mood disorder find that these extreme emotional states can last for an extended time.

Some of the most common mood disorders include:

Depression. Bipolar disorder. Dysthymic disorder.

It is estimated that 6.7% of American adults have at least one depressive episode per year. Mood disorders can be treated with a combination of medication and psychotherapy. If left untreated, mood disorders can lead to potentially dangerous consequences, such as severe depression and suicide ideation.
