into reality. Last April, Soror Katrina brought the idea of having an Astronaut present to AGO’s youth and 9 months later that vision came to life!
Last Saturday, Alpha Gamma Omega Chapter hosted a special program for our Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) cohort, in collaboration with the brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated Beta Psi Lambda Chapter and their Alpha Esquires cohort.
Themed "Iconic Women in Space," the program featured the inspiring NASA Astronaut Dr. Jeanette Epps, a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Held at our historic sorority house in Los Angeles, Dr. Epps captivated attendees with her remarkable journey, groundbreaking achievements, and invaluable insights into her recent mission to space.
The YLI committee curated a dynamic and engaging day filled with STEAM-focused activities. From a hands-on workshop to a powerful talk with Dr. Epps about her path to becoming an astronaut, participants explored the limitless possibilities in STEAM. The day also included a lively Q&A session, meaningful fellowship over a delicious meal, and countless moments of inspiration for the youth in attendance to chase their dreams.
