CLIMBING

Recreation Services offers a 35 ft. climbing wall with varying levels of difficulty and four auto-belays. Our climbing programs are designed to allow for progression and teach fundamentals and advanced techniques. Climbing is an excellent way to challenge yourself mentally, get a full body workout and develop flexibility.

Step 1: Climbing Orientation

General orientation for basic climbing facility rules and safety. Includes instruction on how to properly use the auto-belay systems, basic climbing terminology and technique. All equipment is provided. Orientations can be completed during any scheduled Open Climb time. Cost: $20

Step 2: Open Climb

For individuals who wish to access the climbing wall, and have completed the climbing orientation course. The wall will be supervised by trained staff to ensure your safety. Open Climb schedule is available on our website and mobile app.

Step 2: Belay Test

For experienced climbers wanting to climb top-rope or on lead you must complete a belay test one time during Open Climb time. Cost: $5

Bouldering Wall

Our bouldering wall is open to the public and includes new mats, volumes and holds. Check the climbing schedule on our mobile app or website for bouldering wall times.

Climbing Fundamentals

With your climbing partner, learn to climb safely and independently using climbing rope systems. The primary focus is on the fundamentals of top rope climbing, including belay techniques, basic climbing knots, use of equipment, safety and communication. This class is geared towards both new climbers and those that need a refresher. All necessary equipment is provided. Minimum and maximum is 2 climbers per class.
