Pest Control Where there is waste more often than not there are pests! Ensure that all waste is properly disposed of and placed in the correct bins. This is the best way to avoid rats and any other pests. If you find pests that you can’t identify then take a picture or if it’s an insect then put in a jar and take these to the Pest Control Team at The Tourist Information Centre on Smithy Row, City Centre. They will offer you advice on how to eradicate the problem and if it is vermin they will visit the property (for free) and bait the local sewers etc. Please do not attempt to handle rats or mice. If it is another issue that involves a cost to remove then please email rent@uni-2.co.uk with your name, property address and details of the issue – If you have information from the Pest Control Team this will help us rectify the issue quicker. If any costs are accrued due to negligence i.e. rubbish not being properly disposed of or stored. Or even unclean kitchens thus leading to an ant problem then you the tenants will be responsible for the costs involved for eliminating them.
Heating Instructions Whether you are bills inclusive or not you need to ensure that fair usage is used throughout otherwise you could find yourself having to pay a hefty bill! Please refer to your fair usage agreements if you have bills inclusive. We have set these at the national average and so shouldn’t be exceeded!
Heating instructions are found on the inside of your boilers. If these can’t be found then please email rent@uni-2.co.uk with your boiler make and model and we will send you the appropriate manual. Alternatively a simple google search should find this out for you. If you are heating the property up then please ensure you keep the heating on only for as long as necessary. Make sure that if you do have the heating on you keep the windows closed, other than when to ventilate the property. It is in fact cheaper to keep your heating on low for a longer period of time than to have it on high for a shorter period.
Noise and Anti-Social Behaviour Here at Uni2 we love a good party, really love them! Therefore we totally understand you wanting to host pre-drinks and even the occasional house party, however we would kindly ask a few things; Firstly our whole team gets and invite You inform your neighbours and apologise in advance for any excess noise Keep windows and doors closed when loud music is playing Keep geusts inside Tidy up either straight after or the day after (when the hangover has ceased) Remember to lock up when you leave Have fun.

Both of which are identical and the best schemes to use. The deposits will be safeguarded throughout the tenancy agreement and will be repaid to the appropriate parties at the end on the condition that we find the property in the same condition (as per your inventory) that you moved in.
Rent Please refer to your tenancy agreements for details about when your rent is due. We are an easy going bunch but we do not tolerate late rent and so please, if you think that you might be late in paying your rent then contact us in advance as possible. If rent is missing on the due date and we haven’t been suitably informed then in accordance with your tenancy agreement late letter’s will be sent out which each incur a fine. This is the most serious thing you could do to damage our relationship, we want you to have a great year and a great time here but we also have to look out for our landlords who have familys and bills to pay of their own. Welcome to Nottingham! You’re going to have a great time!
There’s so much to do around the city!
A little history about Nottingham;
More modern stuff;
Hi there,
There is loads of stuff for you to do around the city.
Welcome to Nottingham!
There is the Cornerhouse which houses restaurants, bars, an airplane simulator, a casino, a cinema and an advernture golf! This is bang in the city centre, you can spend ours in this place.
Now that we have the formalities out of the way it is time to learn some cool stuff about Nottingham and your new home. Nottingham is a hugely historical city; it has castles, caves, legends and lace mills:
Round the corner there is The Forum, Rock City, Spanky Van Dykes (yes, that’s the name of a bar), Stealth and the Royal Theatre House.
The castle is located in a commanding position on a natural promontory known as “Castle Rock”, with cliffs 130 feet high to the south and west. In the Middle Ages it was a major royal fortress and occasional royal residence. In decline by the 16th century, it was largely demolished in 1649, but sufficient fragments remain to give an impression of the layout of the site. A ducal mansion later occupied the summit of the promontory. This was burnt out by rioters in 1831, and later adapted as an art gallery and museum, which remains in use today. Definitely worth a visit!
Bars with cheap drinks lines the city, everything from £1 ‘Jager’ Bombs to fancy cocktails, you will find out about many of these from your fresher reps and through exploring but there are soe hidden gems that you will have to pick up one of our Uni2 Know magazines to find out about! The Victoria Centre is a very good shopping centre full of major high street stores and some independant as well, it also serves as a walk through to other parts of town. The Broad Marsh centre is a little less impressive but houses some poundstores, some decent cafes and is a walk through for Ocean & the bus station. There are barbers and hairdressers plastered all over Nottingham, so it may take you a while to decide on your favorite but you will have a good time deciding!
Nottingham sits upon a soft sandstone ridge, which can easily be dug with simple hand tools to create artificial cave dwellings. Indeed Nottingham was once known as Tigguo Cobauc meaning Place of Caves. The caves here are some of the oldest remaining in the city, with pottery finds dating them to 1270-1300, and were inhabited from at least the 17th century until 1845. None of the caves are natural, they were all cut into the sandstone for use as houses, cellars and place of work by the inhabitants of the city. They are superbly cool and would make an excellent adventure for a date.
Nottingham is home to some of the best vintage shop in the country so go crazy and dress 70’s, 80’s or even 90’s! There are a fair few doctors surgeries around Nottingham so to find the one closest to you and the best for any problem it would be best to google from you location. It would be avisable to take note of these as no student goes there 3-4 years of studying without a little mishap!
