Pakistan is currently facing severe energy crisis, which is impacting not only the economy but every aspects of life. The energy production in Pakistan through conventional means like furnace oil based power plants not overcoming the power demands on one hand but also contributing to global warming and climate change.
Industries especially Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) having difficulties in accessing energy services due to the frequent electricity supply interruption which results into the use of expensive diesel generators sets. This energy shortages result in lowering of SME’s production, profit and opportunities to grow. A significant fraction of these enterprises use conventional fuels as captive power source to meet the energy requirements.
