Welcome week offers a series of workshops, talks, events and activities for all new students, whatever their stage of study.
FRIDAY 6 OCTOBER Your PGR Welcome Induction Day is a vital part of your first week. It’s your chance to get to know more about your research degree, your department and the University of Essex. The morning will be spent in conference with fellow research students from across the University, before you spend time after lunch in your own department. During the day, you’ll have a chance to meet and network with the Dean of Postgraduate Research and Education, academic staff and other PGR students. You can also find out more about the academic, personal and developmental support available to you during your studies.
To become a member of the University of Essex, and to receive your registration card you must attend your departmental registration session. Make sure you register at the right time for your department.
We have loads planned during Welcome week, including social events, workshops, arts, cultural and sports activities. www.essex.ac.uk/welcome/whats-on
The Essex English Language Assessment is compulsory for all international students with English as an additional language. For more information and to find out what time your assessment is for your department, please visit www.essex.ac.uk/welcome/english
