We have built and continually develop a strong network of large multinationals, such as BT, Birketts, AXA XL and local business clusters. We also have partnerships with small to medium businesses across the region and strategic economic development agencies such as the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce and the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP).

We work closely with businesses to enhance your studies by generating internships and other employment opportunities and creating real-life project briefs. We also collaborate with our business partners when developing and expanding our new and existing courses.

It’s been an absolute pleasure working with ILABS and the University and we’ll keep in touch to ensure we’re aware of the excellent initiatives your team are providing to help businesses thrive in Suffolk.

Innovation Labs (ILABS)

ILABS, located in The Atrium, is a new partnership which has been established to enable the growth of new entrepreneurs and regional businesses, supporting student entrepreneurs, apprentices and alumni and connecting academics to industry.

Through ILABS you can receive support, advice and the space to create your own business, connect with a dynamic and growing network and attend business workshops and events.

Our high specification Stratasys printers have a broad range of printing capabilities and are ideally suited for taking early stage prototypes through to late stage development. They use more sophisticated printing materials, e.g. biocompatible resins, than basic printers which opens up a number of possible uses. You can engage with the team to discuss your potential project and gain technological expertise. These facilities are available to all students and staff regardless of their course and can support a range of interesting projects.

DigiTech Centre

The DigiTech Centre is a collaboration between the University of Suffolk and BT, with funding from the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and is based at the heart of Adastral Park, one of Europe’s largest science and technology business parks. The Centre has world-class co-working specialist laboratories making Suffolk a recognised destination for industry-focused ICT and Digital Creative study programmes and an internationally recognised destination for Continued Professional Development (CPD) in digital technologies.

Being part of a large technology community offers our students many opportunities for collaboration and informal learning as well as access to more social, entertainment and sports facilities. Through this partnership, we are seamlessly connected to over 100 hightech digital and technology companies and their facilities, including BT’s Applied Innovation Labs.
