THE SUFFOLK DOCTORAL COLLEGE
We are committed to the development of high-impact innovative research across a range of disciplines.
Our postgraduate researchers, the new generation of thinkers and researchers, are essential to ensuring our research remains original and dynamic.
The Suffolk Doctoral College supports PhD students with the delivery of our postgraduate research programmes and is committed to providing an excellent PhD experience. We understand the challenge of completing a PhD and will support this rewarding journey within an inspirational and encouraging environment of academic experts, peers and our local community.
During your period of study, the Suffolk Doctoral College collaborates with schools, research institutes and student services to provide student support across your PhD experience, including research skills, development opportunities, ethical guidance and any matters relating to research funding.
At the heart of the campus, in the Library Building, the Suffolk Doctoral College provides a dedicated space to study and to socialise, exclusively for postgraduate researchers.
An important part of your time as a research student at the University of Suffolk is working to develop the skills you need to be successful in your studies and, beyond. In order to enhance the learning experience of all research students, the Suffolk Doctoral College and the Research Office collaborate to deliver the Research Development Programme (RDP). This programme has been developed using a skills framework created at a national level to ensure that universities across the country support the growth of a range of abilities needed by successful researchers.
Through social and skills events and training workshops, interaction is encouraged between students from different academic disciplines, resulting in a vibrant and supportive postgraduate community. uos.ac.uk/content/ suffolk-doctoral-college
