PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING

MSc (Progression Route)

This course is designed to facilitate Health Visitors and School Nurses who have a postgraduate qualification in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) to attain a full Masters degree. By building on previous postgraduate study undertaken for specialist practice (SCPHN), this course continues the development of critical thinking skills required to provide high level judgement and clinical decision making in contemporary public health nursing.

This course enables you to reflect your individual interests and to demonstrate some originality of thought and analytical creativity in the study of your chosen area.

You will be allocated an academic supervisor who will have an appreciation of your chosen area of study and will have a broad understanding of the health and social issues, as appropriate to the research topic.

Routes with or without the ‘Research Methods’ module are available.
