B u t , fe a r n o t m y f a s h i o n l o v i n g friends, Autumn/ Winter ’13 has given us possibly some of the most W E A R A B L E t r e n d s fo r a w h i l e . I’m t a l k i n g a k a l e i d o s c o p e o f c o l o u r, androgynous silhouettes and a whole lot of British heritage in the fo r m o f p r i n t , k n i t a n d b u i l d a b l e texture. T h i s s e a s o n i s t e l l i n g u s i t ’s c o o l t o d r e s s l i ke Wo o d y ’s A n n i e H a l l . I t ’s e v e n c o o l e r t o t a ke i n s p i r a t i o n f r o m t h e f a r m i n g c o m m u n i t y. A n d i t ’s b e g g i n g u s t o e x p e r i m e n t w i t h wacky patterns, texture mixing and colour. Last but not least, do all of this with killer Cara eyebrows, a bright lip and glossy minimalistic hair. Androgyny is in my good books at the moment. After years of many ladies trying to pull off delicate florals and pretty pinks, A/ W catwalks stylishly rebelled against the social expectation o f “ G i r l = B o w s a n d Pe t t i c o a t s . ”

Manly shapes, high waist peg legs a n d c h u n k y b r o g u e s , w e’r e r e a d y fo r y o u . With the next trend in the books, d e s i g n e r s l i ke M u l b e r r y a n d D a k s embraced true Brit style, giving u s h o u n d t o o t h , t h i c k k n i t w e a r, a neutral colour palette and a whole lot of tweed. Let me tell you, you will look straight off the LFW catwalk stepping out this season in some burgundy bottoms, an oversized cocoon coat, a textured knit top and some bulky brogues If you could throw a little splash o f p r i n t i n t h e r e a s w e l l y o u’r e o n b o a r d fo r s t y l e s u c c e s s . The good thing about this s e a s o n’s t r e n d s i s t h e r e i s n’t anything too specific. Nothing has been condemned as a fashion sin, and nothing as the only thing you should be seen wearing in public. Bright whites, deep purples and blues, clashing prints and embellished jewel tones are all on t h e c a r d s fo r t h e e n d o f 2 0 1 3 . We’r e going to be seeing multiple trend interpretations on the streets this season, those embracing the o l d a n d t h e n e w, m i n i m a l i s m a n d ‘m a x i m a l i s m’ , a n d m i x i n g t e x t u r e s , d r e a m y m a t e r i a l s a n d t o d i e fo r p r i n t s … s o I’d s a y w e’r e i n fo r a n e x c i t i n g fe w m o n t h s .

Don’t rule it out - luxury accommodation can be affordable By Laura Hartley

or you first and second years, if you want to live on your own next year, but want something a little more sophisticated and luxurious, then look no further! We have a guide to where you can find the more luxurious flats and houses in Nottingham. Now, although there are tons of places within a mile radius of Nottingham City Centre that may not look like a great place to live, fear not, if you dig deep into the areas of Nottingham, you will find something.

All of the places I will talk about in this article, you can view in local estate agents if there are any available. Just a ten minute walk from the city centre, by the National Ice Centre/Capital FM Arena, you will find some fabulous sky high flats! They are modern, contemporary and have great views over the city. You will definitely be the coolest in your group of friends if you lived in a place like this. Now, because there are so many properties on the market at once, having specific areas in mind to

look at is a great place to start when looking for a higher quality place to live. West Bridgford is a lovely area, one of the nicest in Nottinghamshire and you can be guaranteed to find a home here. Home to three of the biggest sporting clubs in the East Midlands, you will be living across the river from Notts County FC, Nottingham Forest FC and Trent Bridge. If you are not so much a sporting fan, then the gorgeous view of the River Trent is sure to be something to wake up to. Your friends will envy you if you lived

here. Another area where you are sure to pick up a good home is Wollaton. Just off Derby Road, Wollaton is a quiet homely area, so if you want somewhere to settle down after third year, or you aren’t looking to share with noisy students, this will be the place to look! There are so many areas in Nottingham that offer luxurious apartments and houses, that the only thing to do to pick the right one for you, is to go down to your local estate agents and have a good mooch!
