This will be the fourth year a Boeing 737 Type Rating Scholarship will be awarded. The winner will be invited to Seattle to participate in the Boeing 737 type rating training over the course of several weeks. Once the scholarship has been awarded, and upon successful completion of the 737 type rating, and only when Alaska is actively hiring, the recipient will have an opportunity to interview for a pilot position. Scholarship Criteria Must be at least 18 years of age and involved with aviation related training, leading to a career as a professional pilot. The strength of the applicant’s commitment to supporting and bettering the LGBT community is one of the criteria established by the NGPA Education Fund in considering applicants.

Scholarship Criteria Applicants who have been enrolled in college must submit a copy of all college courses and course grades received to date, in addition to the application and required high school performance data.
Epic Flight Academy A&P Scholarship
Contact Latino Pilots Association www.latinopilot.org Usual Deadline April Amount(s) Awarded $20,000 Description The Latino Pilots Association is pleased to announce a $20,000 scholarship opportunity to an aspiring aircraft mechanic. The aircraft mechanic training course will be completed at the Epic Flight Academy in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. This 18 month, FAA Part 147, hands-on training program will cover all the subject areas required to meet FAA standards for an A&P Certificate. At the end of the program, the student will be prepared to take the required written, practical, and oral exams needed to obtain their Airframe & Powerplant Certificate. Scholarship Criteria Scholarship Essay (max 1 pg.) OR Youtube Video (5 max mins.) - Please describe, “what does aviation signify to you and why you would like to obtain your A&P Certificate?” Include any achievements, goals, and special financial need. One Professional Letter of Recommendation - Can be completed by a professor, manager, teacher, or mentor. Cannot be from a family member. You may also submit an optional second Letter of Recommendation.

Scholarship funds may be used towards training for an instrument rating or any other advanced flight training (e.g., multi-engine, commercial, instructor, or ATP). Funds may also be used to pay for tuition and fees, within a flight education program at an accredited college, university, or flight school cover the cost of advanced flight training. Scholarship funds will be sent directly to the recipient’s flight school. Funds may not be applied towards a sport, recreational, or private pilot certificate.
