This Welcome Guide contains everything you need to know about staying safe, starting the year well and embracing the new technologies we are introducing as part of our Vision 2028 strategy.
With September upon us, the leaves are beginning to turn golden; crisp, blue mornings are becoming more frequent; and shorter evenings mean we need to wrap up warm. It’s also time to focus our minds on the challenges of a new academic year.
The global pandemic has created much uncertainty, but we are proud to remember that the University of East London has been pioneering futures since 1892. Through two world wars, social revolutions and a great many upheavals, our long history shows we have a spirit of resilience. As we embrace the challenges and opportunities of a post-Covid-19 world, we can be confident we are ready to move forward into the fourth industrial age.
As we adapt to the ‘new normal’, keeping our community safe is our top priority. We continue to be robust and innovative in implementing the necessary steps to ensure we deliver this successfully. In addition to the information featured in this guide, please ensure you study our Covid-secure campus guidelines ahead of the new year.
GETTING STARTED GETTING STARTED
ACCEPTANCE
In order to study at our University, you must complete the acceptance stage of your journey. This means you must not only have accepted the offer we made to you for admission, but you must also have met all our entry criteria. This includes tasks such as the completion of qualification checks with our Admissions Team. Until this step is resolved, you will not be invited to complete enrolment and become a full student of the University of East London. Furthermore, you will not be given access to your University IT account (including Track My Future). If you have any questions about acceptance, visit the ‘accepting’ area on our website for FAQs, advice and guidance.
ENROLMENT AND WHY THIS PROCESS IS IMPORTANT
You cannot study a degree programme at our University without first completing our enrolment process. This is the means by which you sign up to the terms and conditions for your course of study and officially become a student of the University of East London. This step must be undertaken before you will be granted full access to our campuses, online systems and your course.
To complete enrolment, follow these steps: 1. Once you complete our acceptance stage (see above), you will be emailed a request to authenticate the password for your University IT account. 2. Once you authenticate your password, you will gain access to the UEL online gateway with the ability to enrol. You will be directed to the Track My Future Pre-enrolment Page (more information about Track My Future is provided on page 5). 3. Click on the 'how to enrol online' tile within Track My Future.
This will take you to an area with information and video guidance on how to complete the formal process. 4. As a back-up, an initiation to enrol online will also be sent to your University email account. Advice on accessing your email can be found on our website.
If you need support during this process, there are enrolment guidance videos available within Track My Future. Remember Step 1, above, needs to be completed before Track My Future becomes available. You also have the option of gaining virtual support for any stage of your enrolment requirements via call back, appointments, live chat and FAQs.
