Living Safely
With enhanced professional cleaning, multiple hand sanitizing stations in every building and clear signage throughout our estate, you can be confident that our Halls of Residence are aligned to our University’s Covid-secure campus plan.
Our Residential Life team has worked tirelessly to develop and adapt to government advice over the past six months and they will be on hand to support anyone needing to quarantine on arrival or self-isolate throughout the academic year.
Quarantine Packages
Working closely with our international team, we have been able to provide a selection of different ‘International Quarantine Packages’ on arrival to campus. For more information please see: www.uel.ac.uk/international/international-quarantine-packages
Residential E-Induction
To help you understand your obligations, we provide an e-induction via the accommodation portal for all residents to complete. This mandatory online pathway will provide you with all the information you need before you arrive, plus guidance on living with Covid-19.
Our Community Statement
When residents accept their room offer, you also accepted the Residential Life Community Statement to protect our residents and staff. The full statement can be found on our website here: www.uel.ac.uk/accommodation/accommodation-documents
Meeting New People
Our Residential Life team has prepared an exciting programme of events to help you settle in. This includes: movie night, quiz night and live cook-along sessions. Our programmes will include online activities, so you can begin to meet people before you’ve even arrived or, if you need to quarantine, on arrival. We want to help everyone to take part and make new friends across our campus community, so the events will continue throughout the academic year (adapting in line with the latest Government guidelines).
Staying Alert, Controlling the Virus, Saving Lives
To keep everyone safe, we will continually review our processes and policies. A team of students and staff will review our approach monthly to make sure we are offering the best and safest experience. These changes will be published on the Residential Life Intranet pages and in our bi-weekly newsletter #LivingYourBestResLife.
We also have support in place to make sure our residents still get the best experience at the University of East London. Our Residential Life staff are available on the phone, and via email seven days a week. Our security team are available 24/7. Our Residential Life scholars are full-time students living on campus. They will be on hand to offer any advice and guidance you need, and they’ll also be conducting virtual flat welcome sessions across all our accommodation.
