Canalside Studios

Canalside Studios is an award-winning games development studio based in the School of Computing and Engineering. Each year Canalside Studios employs placement students from across the Games Development and Computer Science with Games Programming courses.

Canalside Studios’ main focus is on commercial game development, working as part of a team developing games for a range of platforms including mobile, iPhone /Android and VR development with latest VR technologies. Students create a game which can be released at the end of their placement year and in some cases the games go on to win awards after release. Previous students have also developed commercial titles as far back as the Xbox 360 to Steam and Nintendo Switch.
