END OF THE SEMESTER As we approached the end of the semester, we didn't stop serving the community of Albuquerque and Santa Fe. On 2 May, our CKIers went and joined the Santa Fe Key Club for dinner and fellowship. As most people like to celebrate Cinco De Mayo, so do we. At Emerson Elementary School, we helped facilitate arts and crafts for the students at the school. On 18 May we headed out to help with the opening ceremony at the Special Olympics. Finally, to end the semester on a "bang" we headed out to the Leukemia Society Auction on the 18th.

WELCOME FROM THE PRESIDENT- LUKE KACHELMIER Hi all, I hope everyone’s summer went well … but summer is gone now, so I hope y’all are ready to change gears! If you don’t already know, I’m studying math and I surprisingly enjoy doing math. So I am looking forward to my Advanced Calculus class this semester. We have a bunch of fun projects scheduled this semester. Just in this first month of school we went to ABQ Storehouse and went to Santa Fe to help out the Zozobra! Check out our website to see what's coming up and plan to go to as many as you would like (but don't totally disregard your classes, they are still important). Once October comes we’ll get to help at my favorite project of the semester - Balloon Fiesta! Keep an eye out for those signup sheets, they’ll be coming pretty soon! Nevertheless I am excited to see what everyone else’s favorite project is at the end of the semester.

Hola amigos! My name is Lexi Velazquez, I am studying Music and Spanish. I am a musical theater fanatic, and I love to combine the creative arts with service. (So if you have cool talent let me know! We can use your unique gifts!) I am so excited for this upcoming school year and getting to know each and every one of you. Please share every and all ideas you have with the board about service ideas, speakers, or projects. CKI has truly been a family to me, and I know you will feel the same way. Â Bring all y'alls friends, cousins, and neighbors because I guarantee you that your experiences with CKI will be some of your best memories. You will meet so many kind, sweet people here, this is a truly awesome community. I hope that our Wednesday meetings and Saturday projects will be the highlight of your week. Thank you in advance for your service and for sharing your sunshine!

WELCOME FROM THE VICE PRESIDENT-LEXI VELAZQUEZ

District Officer Training Conference (DOTC) 31 May- 3 June 2018 At the end of May, a few members of UNM CKI went to DOTC for a weekend of training for the upcoming CKI year. We had a blast getting to know the other members of the district board. Thanks to our wonderful Gov. Sara Al-Midany (UNM) we were able to finish our training and start our preparation for club board training at CLE in Flagstaff. We thank our wonderful service chair, Aisha Raji (GCU) for putting together a wonderful service project that allowed us to make activity packages for the nursing home in Gallup. Fellowship included multiple icebreakers, a trip out to the Rope Course, and putting our heads together to pull a few pranks. All in all, it was an exhausting weekend, but filled with fun!

District officer Training Conference Cont. With the all the pictures you can see that we all enjoyed our time. At UNM we hope you all consider coming to our district events and finding ways that you can become involved at both the club and district levels!
