ELECTIONS
On Monday February 17, 2020 the members of UNM CKI elected new board members for the 2020-2021 Kiwanis year. The following members were elected to our positions: President: Kathryn Masten Vice President: Vincent Huber Seceratery: Anjali Dvorak Treasurer: Shelby Smith Bulletin Editor: this position remains open at this time
KIWANIS MIDYEAR
During February, members of our club attended Kiwanis midyear. "What exactly is Kiwanis midyear?" you ask. Well, at midyear, Kiwanians from the Southwest District come together to discuss what they can do to better the district and each club. HOW IT WENT:
Southwest District Treasurer, Vincent Huber, went to Kiwanis Midyear. He said, "My favorite part was being able to hang out with CKIers and meet new Kiwanians. I felt I was much better able to talk to them this year compared to last year." Just from Vincent's experience alone, its clear that attending Kiwanis events is beneficial when it comes to meeting new friends and networking with people in the workforce.
DCON IS COMING UP!
Have you registered for DCON??? If you have, then prepare for an unforgettable weekend!
Still unsure if you're interested in going? Take it from someone who went for the first time last year: "I wasn't super involved in the club before DCON. I went to projects and meetings but I didn't feel very close to many people in the club until I spent the weekend with them. It was a really good way to meet people and make a ton of good memories." - Kathryn Masten (club bulletin editor).
At DCON (District Convention) we elect a new district board, eat cookies, do a service project, meet members of other clubs, and get to know people in our own clubs a little better. Plus this year's theme is UP (like the movie) so you don't want to miss it!
