If you are bitten by an angel immediate steps must be taken to prevent the crystal infection from spreading. If the angel bites an arm or other extremity, a tourniquet is advised to arrest blood flow. If you are bitten on the head, neck or torso, seek professional, preferably Catholic, help immediately.
Retaking
In extreme cases, amputation may be the only option. If left untreated angel bites often lead to transformation. Victims may be consumed by sibilance of inner light, or melt into a faintly honey-scented mist, or become self-conscious whirlwinds.
As always, prevention is better than cure.
Once a bite takes hold, you may spin through time and place in Earth’s movie. ‘Cut!’ the fever is ready; evolution unwinding tears of dinosaurs you feel clicking on your steamed up window panes. Then you remember mud, warm and sweet on flippers sliding in gritty reality.
Next, whispering in your genes so loudly now all yesterdays barely hiding in your grimace; lips pressed close, the synchronicity of breath tasting eternity on its finger tips of the day, where the secrets beat in the heat, the rain, freezing as feathers gently rip through flesh.
So if you encounter an angel with an appetite, do not look upon its brightness; try not to attract attention. Do not engage it in philosophical debate. Stay very still until it passes by, and the thunderous sound of its enticingly beating wings has entirely subsided, softly singing into syllables of sunlight.
