Have you been working on your tans? This beautiful weather has been a nice change from our brisk spring. The river has been a dream to be on for those of us who can’t catch a fish but enjoy the float.
The board has met in June to finalize the Regatta, before taking a break until September. If you have any suggestions on what the Chamber Board can do to improve the community and businesses, please send us your suggestions.
We are looking into updating our website and exposure to the internet world. If there are needs you see for any upgrades, please let Kristine Route or the board know what you suggest. Our chamber board is here to promote all of our businesses and our community. That means you! So how can we help?
Enjoy your summer, family, and may your businesses all see a rewarding summer season.
Thank you,
Cheryle James President

Library Fundraising Efforts
Greetings from the volunteers who have kept the Cooper Landing Community Library alive and well since 1983. 41 years and going strong! There have been many changes through the years. The card catalog is long gone, and the introduction of the internet has taken us from one secondhand computer and a fax machine to four public access computers, color printing, and an Integrated Library System. The building has doubled in size and undergone numerous upgrades to make operations more cost-efficient. Through all these changes, the library continues to provide public computers and printers, reliable internet, new-release and up-to-date fiction, non-fiction, DVDs, magazines, and a delightful children’s section. We also offer access to the Alaska Digital Library through Overdrive for audiobooks and eBooks. Providing this service to the community comes at a cost. Annually, we apply for and receive a grant of up to $7,000 from the State Library. Our community is required to match this amount. This year we are once again asking for your help. Checks can be mailed to Cooper Landing Community Library, PO Box 517, Cooper Landing, AK 99572. You can also donate directly at the library or online through our website, cooperlandinglibrary.com, by clicking the donate button at the bottom of the page.
Donations received for 2024 have just reached $4,000. We’re a little over halfway there! Thank you so much to those who have contributed.

Cooper Landing Community Club
Summer is here! The salmon aren’t, but the tourists are, and the weather has been incredible!
Early in the month, the softball tournament ended with MooseAlanche being the 2024 Cooper Landing Softball Tournament Champions for a second year in a row!! Well played! This fundraiser for the Community Club was bountiful, with lots of volunteers who helped make it another successful tournament!
Our community’s voice is powerful. Your valuable feedback regarding areas still needing tree debris removal from Chugach and Carlos Tree Service has been heard. Arthur Miller, the CEO of Chugach, contacted our president, Lorraine, and said that for the majority of June, Carlos was working elsewhere, but all the recommendations have been forwarded, and they would be back. There are lots of dry, limbed logs laying on the easement areas and borough land that are up for grabs, especially on Bean Creek Rd and Williams Rd! Please be aware if it is private property and park safely while gathering the logs.
If you haven’t bought your 2024-25 Cooper Landing Directory yet, you still can get one at Alaska River Adventures, 35269 King Salmon Dr. $15ea.
There is a new arch at the Community Club! Kevin and Jess Ostrowski carefully designed and built a log arch themselves for their wedding on June 29th and are leaving it to the community for future events. They worked to keep a “theme” of what the Community Club is and considered size and placement to frame the majestic scenery. We couldn’t be more grateful for this gift; it’s BEAUTIFUL! Thanks, Kevin and Jess, and may your lives always flow like the river with joy and love!
