Victoria shared, “Tulsa is so fortunate to have Up With Trees. Up With Trees has helped in immeasurable ways to make Tulsa a unique and beautiful city. As we all know, trees make an area magical, as with Woodward Park, Turkey Mountain and one of my
favorites, the Midland Valley Trail. In each of these, it is the trees that make the areas what they are! Places each of us are grateful for in our Tulsa, in our city. “ Victoria and Elizabeth invite you to this year’s Green Leaf Gala: Planting Tulsa’s Legacy on October 4th, as we continue growing a beautiful urban forest for all Tulsans.
VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT-
TULSA COMMUNITY COLLEGE TULSA ACHIEVES STUDENTS Over the last several years, Tulsa Community College (TCC) students have volunteered countless hours at Up With Trees through the Tulsa Achieves program. We are so grateful they have chosen to be a part of our organization. Students have had their hands in everything from planting trees to painting the iconic Up With Trees signs. Tim Fernandez, TCC Director of Tulsa Achieves, said, “Up With Trees is an agency that resonates with our students on many levels. I believe in particular because eco-friendly, sustainable efforts are a real concern of our traditional college age students.” We are truly excited to grow our relationship with TCC, and every student we meet through the Tulsa Achieves program, as we work towards growing a sustainable and more beautiful community through Tulsa’s urban
forest.
