ArKwAy is the project of a new floating deveopment in the Thames Estuary. It is seen as a way for London to grow, while opening up for new possibilities. Such possibilities are new types of industry for large elements manufacturing, a new deep water port for London and the new floating airport to take pressure ff the existing facilities. Since the Thames Gateway is as an extension area for London under too much risk of flooding for large cale development an option of a floating development would rduce this risk.
The project was developed at the Bartlett School of Architecture in the MSc Urban Design course in the year 2005/2006 by Anika Mittal, Juergen Haepp and Fabian Neuhaus
