Ohioans Losing Money to Job Scams (COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today warned Ohioans to be cautious of opportunities to make extra money this holiday season. Some job offers and workfrom-home opportunities are scams. In 2014, the Ohio Attorney General’s Office has received nearly 100 complaints involving job or businessopportunity potential scams. The average reported loss is more than $1,300. “It’s a time of year when many people could use extra cash, but if you have to send money in order to make money, it’s probably a scam,” Attorney General DeWine said. “We encourage Ohioans to research a job opportunity before going on an interview or providing any personal information.” Examples of phony job opportunities can include:  Mystery shopping: A job seeker finds an offer to make money as a secret shopper. The first assignment is to

receive and deposit a check, and then wire-transfer a portion of the funds to “evaluate” the transfer service. In reality, the job seeker will be wiring his or her own money to a con artist who has sent the job seeker a bad check.  Package processing: A job seeker finds an offer to work from home for a logistics company by receiving and shipping packages, but the company is bogus and the job seeker won’t make any money.  Vehicle advertising: An offer online claims individuals can make hundreds of dollars a week by wrapping their car in an advertisement for an energy drink or other product. The individuals are told they need to provide payment before the ad can be placed on their vehicle, but in truth it’s all a scam. Babysitting: A babysitter receives an offer to work for a couple who has not

yet moved into town. The couple supposedly needs the babysitter to check out their new apartment, so the couple sends the babysitter payment in advance. They ask the babysitter to deposit the payment, withdraw as much as possible, then purchase prepaid money cards and provide the couple with the cards' numbers so they can provide the money to the “rental agent.” In reality there is no couple or babysitting job; it’s all a scam. Regardless of the pitch, many of the scams follow a similar pattern. First the scam artist sends a realistic-looking check and asks the victim to deposit it. Once the check is deposited (but before it has cleared), the victim is told to wire or otherwise send a portion of the funds to someone else, possibly out of the country. Later, after the victim has sent his or her own money, the victim finds out from the bank that the deposited check was counterfeit.

5

To avoid scams, Attorney General DeWine encourages job seekers to research the company offering the work by contacting the Ohio Attorney General’s Office and the local Better Business Bureau. Job seekers also can use a search engine to look up reviews by searching for the company’s name along with terms such as “complaint,” “scam,” or “review.” Signs of a potential job scam include receiving a check before any work is performed, claims about making hundreds or thousands of dollars doing very little work, requests to wire transfer money or purchase prepaid money cards, and interviews conducted strictly through a messaging system. To report a potential scam or to get help detecting a scam, individuals should contact the Ohio Attorney General’s Office at www.OhioAttorneyGeneral.gov or 800 -282-0515.

In 2001, Mayor Coleman created the Affordable Housing Trust Corporation to provide more housing options to inner-city residents. In June, Mayor Coleman launched Early Start Columbus, a $5 million investment in quality preschool education. Mayor Coleman continues to work with City Council, Columbus City Schools, the business community and other community partners to leverage new investments to expand access to early childhood education. In July, he began FastPath, a workforce development partnership with Columbus State Community College, COWIC, Nationwide Children’s Hospital and others, which graduated its first class of 20 this week. Expanding access to quality pre-K and job readiness were among the recommendations of the Columbus Education Commission, a diverse panel assembled by Mayor Coleman in late 2012 to recommend bold improvements for Columbus schools.

have previously written several articles about how most Americans are pretty clueless. The results of the last elections showed that. A lot of Americans stayed home, and people from states that depend heavily on government programs, such as food stamps, welfare and social security, elected Republicans — the very people who have said they plan to slash these programs. MIT professor Jonathan Gruber, the architect of Obamacare, caught flak for referring to American voters as stupid, but he is right. Bill Maher, who is known for his biting comedy, recently ran a video montage showing all the times he had also expressed that Americans are stupid. If you need any further evidence of this, a recent YouTube video showed some Texas Tech students who were unable to answer basic questions, such as which side won the Civil War or who was the vice president. Of course, they all knew what show Snookie was on.

3 Acts Of Holiday Season Foolery You Need To Avoid

Alfred Edmond, Jr and Zara Green, Co-Author are co-principals of A2Z Personal Growth Enterprises, producer of The Grown Zone discussion series, which focuses on key themes popularized via their respective social media platforms, including their @GrownZone Twitter.

Most adult-and-messy choices are a result of making decisions for a reason or a season that result in unintended lifetime consequences. This truth is even more evident during the holiday season, when we make exceptions for unhealthy relationship choices and poor treatment that we’d never tolerate during the rest of the year. The result: unhealthy, holiday foolery, the kind you need to fortify yourself against in order to enjoy the holidays without abandoning the healthy, selfloving decision-making agenda of honor, esteem and respect that are guidelines for living in the Grown Zone. Here are three acts of holiday foolery in particular that you need to fortify yourself against and avoid: Getting into or staying in a relationship in order to avoid being single during the holidays. How many unhealthy relationships are motivated by a desperate need to be coupled up with somebody at the big family Thanksgiving gathering? Probably just as many as the number that run their course by Valentine’s Day. (Ever notice how many couples break-up around this commercially driven, “romantic” holiday?) Then there are those who postpone breaking-off unhealthy relationships—even those with domestic violence—in order to “be nice” or avoid “causing trouble” or bringing everybody down during the holidays.

Such acts of holiday foolery are the result of messages from your parents, your friends, your church, popular culture, or echoing in your own head, that say you are “less than” as a single person and “more than” as part of a couple. (You know the annoying—and frankly stupid—questions: Aren’t you married yet? Why haven’t you found someone? What’s wrong with you? Why don’t you get back with [your ex]?) Add to that movies, music and TV commercials that associate holidays (Christmas and New Year’s Day in particular) with finding and falling in love—including tear-jerking marriage proposals in front of entire families—and suddenly people with a permanent address in the friend zone (if that), or even attractive strangers, start looking like soul mate material. Even if you’re not that into each other, you find them acceptable as placeholders, especially after a few holiday toasts— anything to get your mother off your case, right?

or, esteem and respect for themselves or their intended prey) are looking for you. Especially during the holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s, through Valentine’s Day) and also at weddings and engagement parties, penis-led men pick-up the scent of sexual desperation and emotional neediness the way sharks track blood in the water. You may say: If sex, even meaningless sex, makes you feel better and gets you through a depressing holiday season, what’s the problem? True, consensual sex is a popular, socially acceptable way to self-medicate, to distract from or numb you to the loneliness and depression that can feel intensified during the holiday season. However, when the sexual encounter ends and the orgasms subside, the pain, loneliness and anxiety return—usually with the side-effect of selfloathing—requiring more and more “love” to cope, in a futile effort to deal with the root problem, a lack of selflove. Without an intervention, that leads to an unhealthy dependency, whether on a particular person, or sex itself. And as we say in our book Loving In the Grown Zone, once a relationship or behavior becomes compulsive, obsessive or addictive, you’ll do anything, including engaging in immoral, criminal, selfdestructive or unhealthy acts to maintain it—to get your fix by any means necessary. Using sex as a non-prescription drug to deal with holiday blues does not solve problems; it creates them.

Here’s the problem: Feeling compelled to have a relationship to impress family and friends, or to feel valued and lovable, is a classic sign of an unhealthy lack of self-love. You are using another person to establish false self-esteem and to fill a self-love void—one that no one but you can fill. This is not healthy for you, and it’s not fair to the person who is being used by you—and it’s even less healthy for you if they are using you, too. If it’s not healthy, it’s not Grown, and it’s certainly not love—it’s foolery. Accepting and/or exposing yourself to abuse, disrespect, neglect and other If you are in a genuine, healthy relation- forms of mistreatment out of misship of honor, esteem and respect, by all placed “holiday spirit” or “goodwill means, enjoy the holidays together with toward men” (and women). Before you give in to such emotional blackmail, keep these Grown Zone principles in mind:

Protecting your money, body, home and heart is your responsibility. The holiday spirit and goodwill toward men does not justify neglecting that responsibility.  It’s okay to believe in Christmas miracles. Just know that turning an unhealthy relationship into a healthy one is not among them.  Repeatedly breaking up and making up does not mean you belong together. It’s graphic proof that the relationship is unhealthy. Resist attempts to convince you otherwise, especially during the holidays, when you may be more emotionally vulnerable.  The holidays do not transform vipers into cuddly rabbits. Do not be fooled by saintly behavior during the holidays, especially in front of family or your kids, into believing that a person’s lifestyle, beliefs, habits and behaviors have changed. The bottom line: Don’t be so eager for the possibility of love during the holiday season that you cast aside common sense and due process to have a relationship. The holidays are a horrible reason to commit to, stay in or resume unhealthy relationships. If you are not a healthy, happy, whole person without a relationship, the last thing you need is a relationship. No holiday tradition calls for you to trade your brains for a box of rocks. Love—and live—in the Grown Zone.

expenses.

December and New Year's Day give you the perfect occasion to buy real estate. Not only can you pick up a bargain property from a motivated seller, you can save on your purchase

1. Home shoppers put off looking for a home because of holiday decorating, shopping, and parties. Plus, the cold weather makes home buyers prefer to stay home; they wait for warm weather to buy real estate. Get the edge with little competition from other buyers.

2. Home sellers who didn't sell during the recent buying frenzy are worried that their home will not sell. Any seller offering their home for sale during the holiday season is motivated.

Things You Should Know Before You Flip A Property 1. Money is made at the buy, not the sell of your flip. When flipping a house your money is made at the purchase not at the sell of the house. So, many times people buy a house with the intensions of making a huge profit only to find out that they could not make any money after all the renovations because the purchased price of the house was to high. When you purchase your property you need to be sure that you buy the house with enough money to make renovations, have carrying cost, and add about 5 $6,000. Now, cost is at $147,000, and that is if everything goes as planned. Profit is under 10,000 dollars. The mistake was made at the purchase at the home, not the sell.

the contact for the house you need to make sure that you have 7 days to have a inspection preformed, and if the inspection finds problems that are going to cost more money that you are willing to spend you can get out of the contract with no penalties.

3. Don't do the work yourself: - Get a contractor or several sub-contractors and have the work done quickly. You need to have you house flipped ASAP, so that you can get it on the market and get it sold. When I started flipping my brother and me did a house together, and we did all the construction. I had a construction background and figured it would save thousands, but it took us over 4 months to get the work done that a contractor could have had the work 2. ing on the property and were able to spend that time looking for the next deal. This is how you get rich in real estate. 4. Place the property 1 to 2 percent below market value: If you are wanting to flip real estate and make money the object is to buy and sell the property as quickly as possible, so that you can move on to the next house. If you purchase a house and try to sell it at top dollar to make and extra couple of thousand dollars on your flip, and end up holding it for 6 months you are loosing money. Get the house on the market at a price that is going to blow the competition away, and you will sell it no matter what the market conditions. On our second house the market for selling house went down do to the housing market as a whole, and the tightening of the loans across America. We were told that you could not sell a property in this market, but we went ahead anyway and flipped our house. After 3 weeks on the market we had 3 people wanting to buy the house. Why, because we offered it at such a great deal that people wanted

to jump on it. That is what you have to do especially if the market is slow. 5. Use a real estate agent - Do not try to sell you house on your own. Harness the power of a real estate agent and the power of the MLS system. When you do a FSBO you are depending on people driving by your house and seeing you sign, with a real estate agent you have some one actively marketing you house to get it sold. Once again this will free up more time for you to look for more great deals. If you want to help the process I have found that craigslist and listing you house in google adwords help to, but I use these tools with the help of a agent to make sure I have all my bases covered. We hope this article has been helpful with the basics needs of flipping a house. If you will study and learn you will make money. But, do your homework before you purchase a house, and make sure that you can pull a profit on your deal. Then, make it happen!

How To Shape An Eyebrow Don’t Be To Critical

Some herbal remedies for eczema will require that you make a paste with the herbs and then apply the paste to the affected areas. Some remedies require eating the herbs to gain the benefits from them.

Once you have your location and tools ready to go, look at yourself in the mirror. Concentrate on waxing your brows only to remove any excess hair above and below the main brow line. So what types of herbs are helpful in treating eczema? Back in ancient times we didn't have the modern medicine that we have today. All people had to treat their ailments were herbal remedies. In time pharmaceuticals were created replacing many herbal remedies and these became more and more popular. At one point it was only 'new age' people that used herbal treatments.

Let's take a look at some useful herbs and in some cases a combination of herbs works well. Aloe is one herb that is very effective for many skin conditions. Aloe is found in many moisturizing creams and works by moisturizing the skin. Dry skin is one of the symptoms of eczema and the aloe works well to counter the dry skin.

Now things are changing and people are seeking out herbal remedies again. Eczema is one condition that people look for natural treatments. There are a number of eczema herbal remedy solutions that can help to treat the symptoms of the condition.

Calendula herb is also very good when made into a cream and applied to the skin. This will soothe the skin so it is particularly good for skin that is red and inflamed. Oregon grape root and witch hazel are two other herbs that work in a similar way.

There is no cure for eczema and this is one reason that people search for eczema herbal remedy solutions. The other reason is that pharmaceutical medicines can be quite expensive for an ongoing condition. Many prescribed creams or medicines don't have much effect on eczema and even when they do it isn't long before the symptoms return.

Another good eczema herbal remedy solution is to add rosemary to your bath water. Rosemary will help stimulate circulation in the skin which will assist with healing. Oat straw is another herb that will give similar results.

Although herbal treatments are not a cure for eczema they are quite effective at treating the symptoms. Symptoms of eczema include rash, dry skin, flaking or scaly skin and itching. There are dozens of different eczema herbal remedy solutions and you may need to try a few to find one that works well for you. There are many herbal or health stores that will sell the herbs needed for these remedies. You can also find online stores that will stock the herbs that you are looking for. There are never any shortages of the effective herbs for treating this condition.

30

Chickweed or turmeric can be used in poultices and applied to the affected skin areas. This will help the skin to heal and will also relieve the pain and itching cause by eczema. People have different triggers for their eczema and people will respond differently to treatments. A treatment that works for one person will not necessarily work for you so it is a matter of trial and error and you will soon find the right eczema herbal remedy solution that works for you.

Bam” along with Rolonda Watts (TV’s “Curious George”), Avery Kidd Waddell (Road Trip), William “Bootsy” Collins (Night at the Museum) and Cree Summer (WordGirl).

-– Speculative Fiction That Transcends Race, Space and Time –

Atlanta, GA — Tyler Perry makes his first foray into family animation with the release of Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Tough Love arriving on DVD (plus Digital) and On Demand January 20, 2015 from Lionsgate. The film will be available on Digital HD one week earlier on January 13th. Having conquered stage and screen, Tyler Perry has now turned his attention to creating entertaining programs specifically for families to enjoy together. In Tyler Perry’s first animated film, fans of Madea can now watch all of their favorite characters including Madea, Uncle Joe and Aunt Bam in a whole new way!

Nashville, TN – The Black Science Fiction Society (BSFS), a collaboration of talented and diverse fiction authors from around the globe, has just released 8 new science fiction novels written by different African American authors. The books have already been heralded as classic stories of imagination. The titles include Afrofuturism by Ytasha L. Womack, American Specter: The Seven Sisters by Rasheedah Prioleau, Broken Glass by Thaddeus Howze, COG by K. Ceres Wright, Conception: Volume 2 of the Darkside Trilogy by William Hayashi, Genesis a compilation edited by Jarvis Sheffield, Silenced by Nicole Givens Kurtz, and Subject 82-42 by Ronald T. Jones.

“We are thrilled to partner with Tyler Perry on the launch of Madea’s Tough Love,” said Anne Parducci, Lionsgate EVP of Marketing and Family Entertainment. “Given the tremendous success and appeal of his beloved character Madea across screen and plays for the past 15 years, we know fans and families will love to watch and laugh with Madea in her first animated movie.” After a hilarious run-in with the law, Madea is sentenced to community service. Determined to do good for the ‘hood, Madea enlists Aunt Bam and Uncle Joe to try and save the Moms Mabley Youth Center from being shut down. With her irresistible sass and wisdom, Madea rallies the local kids to make a stand—and proves that behind her tough exterior is a whole lot of love! Including a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film and a sketch-to-screen storyboard comparison that show Tyler in the recording studio voicing his characters, the Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Tough Love DVD will be available for the suggested retail price of $19.98. Madea fans can get a sneak peek of the movie starting November 25 when “Introducing Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Tough Love” debuts as a special feature on Tyler Perry’s A Madea Christmas Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD.

The larger than life Madea gets herself into even more over the top and outrageous situations – all in the name of helping children save their youth center. The comic adventure features the voice talent of Tyler Perry as “Madea” and “Uncle Joe” among others and Cassi Davis (House Of Payne) as “Aunt

The 2016 Toyota Mirai Could Mean The End of Oil Changes Forever

2016 Toyota Mirai Say goodbye to expensive gas and messy oil changes. If Toyota has its way, its new hydrogenpowered Mirai could revolutionize the automobile industry and save the environment. Instead of an engine, the Mirai uses Toyota Fuel Cell Technology, has two hydrogen tanks and emits only water vapor. The car takes just three to five minutes to refuel and was designed to have a premium driving feel, similar to a Lexus. Long known for its focus on sustainability, Toyota hopes that the Mirai will reduce even more CO2 from the environment; hydrogen has the least amount of greenhouse gases and can be made from garbage, corn, and solar and wind power. The automaker has partnerships to build 19 fueling stations in California by 2016 and to roll out additional stations along the East Coast later. It’s also offering state incentives and HOV stickers to encourage local governments and consumers to get on board.

Corollas? “The brand is built around durability, quality, reliability and safety, and those brand pillars can not be touched,” Nihar Patel,VP of North American business strategy for Toyota, told NewsOne at the L.A. Auto Show. “And it doesn’t happen simply by putting a Toyota badge on it. These folks have been slaving away on [Mirai] for well over a decade. I drove one of these cars for 15,000 miles, the Highlander version, and I would not have sat in it for even one mile if I thought it was unsafe, let alone put my family in it.”

Jim Colon, VP of African American business strategy, related the reaction to the Mirai to that of the company’s initial entry into hybrid technology.”There are a lot of people who are going to say, ‘This ain’t gonna work.’ We have a track record of proving naysayers wrong,” he said. “A lot of people called the Prius a science experiment.
