GENERAL APPROACH The open space amphitheater covers an area of approximately 300 m2 in the northwest side of the hotel garden. It serves the hotel’s needs for animation in the most crowded period of the hotel, the summer months. It can host more than 500 seated people. At the moment, the amphitheater doesn’t have the necessary infrastructure to serve these people sufficiently. There aren’t any safe stairs available, any lighting nor any comfortable entrance. Therefore, especially when the place is crowded, there is a high risk of accidents. Moreover the available space for storage, costumes and preparation of the animators is not sufficient. The proposed interventions aim to transform the space into a comfortable space for animation, which all the guests will enjoy.
COST ESTIMATION More specifically, the proposed interventions are: 1. Entrance The formation of two comfortable entrances with wooden stairs, which lead on the upper level of the amphitheater. From this point the guests can reach comfortably their seat. The total area of each entrance is 6,2 m2. (2 x 6,2 = 12,4 m2) 2. Stairs Design of two ergonomic wooden stairs on the sides of the gradines, because the gradines are too steep. The new stairs will have a rise of 17cm and a runner of 30cm. This is the best proportion for a comfortable and safe stair. The total amount of steps that will be constructed is 16. 3. Perimetric wall The perimetric wall is quite low at the moment, thus making the guests feel unsafe when walking on the upper corridor. After the intervention the wall will be higher with embedded lighting in order for the guests to walk safely on the perimetric corridor. The proposed structure is with wooden covering and will reach 65cm from the floor level of the corridor. The total length of the wall is 44m. 4. Storage The construction of two storage and preparation rooms is proposed in the two sides of the scene. The storage rooms have general dimensions 4,00m x 4,20m. They will serve also for the entrance of the animators on the scene. Their height will not exeed the height of the existing storage room (appr. 3,2m) 5. Lighting 5a) Embedded light on the wooden perimetric wall. Estimated amountQ 20 pieces 5b) Embedded light on all the steps that will be constructed. On the on side the new wooden steps (16 pieces) and the steps of the two entrances (12 pieces) The total estimated amount for the renovation of the amphitheater is approximately 16000 euro.

NIGHT VIEW The most important intervention in terms of safety for the operation of the amfitheater is the installation of lighting. Since the amfitheater is operating mostly on night hours, light installation is of high importance for the cofort and safety of the guests. The proposed lighting devices are mostly installed on the perimetric wall and the stairs, for the better and comfortable distribution of the guests. During the performance safety lighting can be dimmed or totaly switched of.
ENTRANCE VIEW The main entrance of the amphitheater is planned on the left side of the stage, on level +2,35. It is possible to construct a second entrance on the right side of the stage, with the same arrangement. The proposed material is wooden deck. This allows a light construction which can breath and allow humidity of the ground to evaporate. Lighting and the necessary railing guarantee the safety of the guests.
