Welcome to the 2021 USHCC Legislative Summit 2 As

America rebuilds, Hispanic Business is a key driver of our economy’s revitalization. The USHCC 2021 Virtual Legislative Summit welcomes the vast exploration of these countless innovative opportunities through public policy, procurement, advocacy, and access to necessary technical assistance to build back better. On behalf of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and our Board of Directors we invite you to join us as we connect America’s Hispanic Business leaders with elected officials from both sides of the aisle in a bipartisan effort to influence legislative change. This Summit creates a platform for ideas that help our economy grow, our businesses scale, and our country move forward to reestablish our economic vibrancy. Join us on Tuesday, March 30th and Wednesday,

March 31st, 2021 for this important Hispanic business virtual event. At the USHCC, our mission is to promote the growth, development, and interests of more than 4.7 million Hispanic-owned businesses that contribute over $800 billion to the American economy every year. This is a topic that transcends political parties. When our businesses succeed, jobs are created, the economy grows stronger, we have better goods and services, and we are more competitive globally. We look now to a new political era in Congress and the BidenHarris Administration who are tasked with drafting policies that grow our small minority-owned businesses and support our collective Hispanic community, 61 million citizens strong in

America. The USHCC along with our corporate partners, chambers of commerce, and respective constituencies is ready to collaborate and advocate for strategic policies that grow Hispanic business, place Hispanics in positions of power in both government and corporations, and provide necessary access to capital and technical assistance to revitalize the American economy. The crafting and passage of these policies will require unity, participation, and strategic bipartisan collaboration. Whether you are a private smallbusiness owner, corporate executive, or chamber member, we sincerely hope you will join this dynamic conversation to have your voices of influence heard at our USHCC 2021 Virtual Legislative Summit.

Greetings Dear Business Leaders,

MESSAGES & GREETINGS

On behalf of Comcast NBCUniversal Telemundo and Sky’s 200,000 employees, I am honored cochair the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s 2021 Legislative Summit. The summit is an important opportunity to share the USHCC’s creative programming and bold advocacy agenda. In the coming days we will highlight members, identify business opportunities, introduce elected and appointed policy leaders rebuilding our economy, and amplify the USHCC Policy Platform during the first 100 days of this new administration.

I want to thank the Board Chair Alice Rodriguez and President Ramiro Cavazos for their leadership and coolness under pressure. I am proud to serve on the Board of Directors and thankful for the opportunity to work with a dedicated team on the issues facing our community. In the throes of a global pandemic, economic crisis, natural disasters, and political and social turbulence, the USHCC community has united to mobilize Hispanic business leadership to advocate for policies to put us on the path to a more prosperous and equitable future. At Comcast, we are committed to our partnership with the USHCC and Hispanic business leaders to deliver strategic programs to businesses hit the hardest by COVID-19. Below are a few Comcast NBCUniversal initiatives with the USHCC to support Hispanic owned businesses: •

COMCAST RISE -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Comcast NBCUniversal launched Comcast RISE as part of our $100M Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiative to offer grants, marketing resources, and technology updates to help businesses become more resilient. At Comcast, we’re committed to enhancing businesses of all sizes to offer the technology-forward experiences their customers expect, enabling them to go beyond bouncing back to bouncing forward.

PLAN YOUR VACCINE or PLANIFICA TU VACUNA ----------------------------------------------------------To help users navigate the vaccine rollout, Comcast NBCUniversal Telemundo launched Planifica Tu Vacuna, Plan Your Vaccine, a multilingual, nationwide awareness campaign, website, and interactive tool that centralizes the latest news, and information about when and where people can receive the COVID-19 vaccine. PlanYourVaccine.com features a customizable, state-by-state tool for news and data, letting users know if they are currently eligible to receive the vaccine, track distribution timelines, and find the closest vaccination location.

INTERNET ESSENTIAL --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------We know accessible and reliable Internet is more critical now than ever – and businesses understand that customers need internet service to access products and services across all sectors. In that vein, Comcast expanded Internet Essentials, the nation’s largest, most comprehensive, and successful Internet adoption program and increased internet speeds to 50/5 Mbps without raising prices from $9.95/month, the same it has been since 2011. Since the beginning of the pandemic, eligible IE customers receive 60 days of free service. Households qualify for IE if they are eligible for public assistance programs such as the National School Lunch Program, Housing Assistance, Medicaid, SNAP, SSI, and others. To learn more about how we’re bridging the digital divide, please visit www.InternetEssentials.com.

These efforts will set the pace for better days ahead. I am looking forward to the dialogue at this year’s virtual summit, and I am hopeful that we will continue our work together, in person, very soon!

Sincerely,

Jackie Puente Executive Director, External Affairs Comcast Corporation

Greetings Dear USHCC Members, Chamber Leaders, Sponsors, & Participants, On behalf of Liberty Power, one of the few minority owned energy companies with a national presence and a proud USHCC member, I am honored co-chair the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s 2021 Legislative Summit. We are very excited about the agenda as it highlights the great achievements, challenges and opportunities of the Hispanic business community. Twenty years ago, David Hernandez founded Liberty Power with the vision of creating an energy company that offered small businesses and residential customers the type of services and values typically offered only to large business. Liberty Power today is one of the few minority owned businesses with a national presence and one of largest Hispanic owned businesses in the country.

The USHCC is focused on what we refer to as our “3 C’s: • Helping Hispanic owned businesses access capital • Developing capacity business for our more than 200 Hispanic chambers throughout the country. • Leveraging our connections for corporations and government agencies to increase procurement opportunities for our Hispanic owned business. If our country seeks to rebuild our economy and to do so in strong but also equitable manner, it will need the growing Hispanic business community to thrive. Consider that if all Hispanic owned businesses generated, on average, the same annual revenues that their non-Latino counterparts generate, the results would be an additional $1.5 trillion contribution to our economy We encourage you to review the USHCC Policy Platform and appreciate your comments and suggestion so we can best support our Hispanic business community. I look forward to connecting with you at this year’s virtual summit and deepening our commitment to work together to support our nation’s Hispanic owned businesses.

Sincerely,

According to the Stanford Business Latino Entrepreneurship Institute 2020 “State of Latino Entrepreneurship report” “Latinos are starting businesses at a faster rate than the national average across almost all industries. These business are also growing revenues at a faster rate than White-owned employer businesses. At the same time, Latino-owned business face continued challenges and have been disproportionately affected by the impact of Covid on our economy.

To date, Liberty Power has supported the energy and sustainability strategies of one out of five Fortune 500 companies as well as thousands of small businesses and residential customers. Over half of our team members come from diverse backgrounds with gender parity at all levels. We have also partnered with the USHCC in the past to create the Bright Horizon’s scholarship program, which supports students seeking to enter the energy and sustainability sector. We want to ensure that the more than five million Hispanic-owned business in America thrive and continue being part of the economic engine to power our recovery as a nation.

Greetings Dear Hispanic Business Leaders, It is an honor to welcome you to the 2021 USHCC Virtual Legislative Summit! Thank you for being a part of America’s largest Hispanic business organization. Our theme this year is the “Policy that Powers America’s Hispanic Business.”

MESSAGES & GREETINGS

Partnership underscores our mission as a pro-business, nonpartisan organization dedicated to strengthening America’s 4.7 million Hispanic-owned businesses, that together, contribute more than $800 billion to the American economy each year.

10

We are proud to advocate on behalf of America’s dynamic Hispanic workforce. Over the past 10 years, Latina entrepreneurs, specifically, create businesses six times faster than their non-minority counterparts. Before the pandemic’s effect on the national economy, Latino entrepreneurs started businesses at a rate three times faster than the national average of nonLatino entrepreneurs. We are guided by our mission to empower our community by providing resources and adding value to our members. Our vision at the USHCC is to be the leading voice to advance Hispanic business potential to drive our American economy. To this end, we have focused our advocacy on behalf of our Hispanicowned businesses, Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, and Corporate Partner Members guided by our “Three C’s”: •

Capital – Expanding equitable access to capital through traditional and innovative partnerships,

Capacity – Building capacity through programming, training, and new grant investments, and

Connections – Establishing connections through matchmaking, procurement, and advocacy.

Alice Rodriguez Chair Board of Directors United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Head of Community Impact Managing Director JPMorgan Chase & Co.

We will strengthen our collective voice as America’s largest Hispanic business organization to advocate for equity and a seat at the decision-making tables in the U.S. Congress, Administration, and America’s largest corporations on behalf of our Latino community. We as a nation must continue to expand access to capital, education, and procurement opportunities to unleash the potential of our $2.6 trillion Latino GDP into the future. Together, we will create generational wealth in our Latino community through education and entrepreneurship, and we will power America’s economic recovery.

Respectfully,

SCALING HISPANIC BUSINESS ENTERPRISES (HBES): COMMUNITY PARTNERS UNLOCKING ACCESS TO CAPITAL OPPORTUNITIES

S P ON S OR E D B Y

12:35 PM – 1:35 PM

Hispanic Business Enterprises (HBEs) face disproportionate challenges to access capital and strategic resources to start or scale their businesses. Learn from leaders at the U.S. Small Business Administration, the U.S. Department of Treasury, and the Federal Reserve Bank as we discuss how the incoming administration and bank regulators are envisioning, reimagining, and opening themselves to new and bold financial and technical assistance solutions, including public private partnerships, multi-agency initiatives, special purpose vehicles with innovative capital, and solutions to close the $1.3 trillion parity of capital gap for minority-owned businesses while fully utilizing diverse investment talent including regional and community banks, minority asset managers, Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), credit unions, Minority Depository Institutions (MDIs) and Financial Technology (FinTech) firms. The panel will also touch upon the role corporations, their foundations, and their investment departments can play to strengthen their commitment to supplier diversity and business partnerships with Hispanic and other minority-owned businesses as part of our collective effort to achieve racial equity through economic empowerment in America.

Panelists: • Dr. Esteban López, Healthcare & Life Sciences Market Lead for the Americas, Google Cloud • Mark Madrid, Associate Administrator, Office of Entrepreneurial Development, U.S. Small Business Administration • Anna Alvarez Boyd, Senior Associate Director, Division of Consumer & Community Affairs, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System

CORPORATE SUPPLIER DIVERSITY: BE A PART OF AMERICA’S CORPORATE SUPPLY CHAIN 12:35 PM – 1:35 PM

Large corporations want to expand their supply chains and make them more diverse and inclusive. The USHCC strongly advocates for equity in America’s supply chains for Hispanic Business Enterprises (HBEs). Hear from Corporate Supplier Diversity experts from America’s Fortune 500 companies to learn and connect on which categories, commodities, and services they are procuring so that your business can be a part of their evolving supply chains. HBEs will learn the best practices that other successful Latina and Latino entrepreneurs have used to scale their businesses through corporate procurement and diversity and inclusion programs. Moderator: • Raul Suarez-Rodriguez, Director, Global Economic Inclusion & Supplier, Merck Speakers: • Ángel Colón, Senior Director, Corporate & Supplier Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, The Kroger Company • Yvette Mouton, Senior Supplier Diversity Sourcing Manager, AT&T • Jason Cipriano, Head, Category Management & Strategic Sourcing, MassMutual

Hispanic Business Enterprise Members (HBEs)

Two-thirds of American jobs are created by small businesses, and Hispanic enterprises are leading this critical growth; starting new ventures at a rate three times the national average. The Hispanic Business Enterprise (HBE) Program provides a national platform to Hispanic-owned companies that have scaled and grown beyond the scope of local chambers of commerce. In addition to advocating on behalf of HBEs on Capitol Hill and across the country, the USHCC equips members with resources & knowledge to grow their business by raising awareness on procurement opportunities and introducing them to a broad network of decision makers in both the public and private sectors.
