What makes a form beautiful, powerful, good? For the ancient Greeks it was proportion, harmony and order. For the Japanese it is wabi-sabi – a balance between simplicity and complexity, restraint and spontaneity, perfection and imperfection, permanence and impermanence. Here, clay forms transcend their functional potential.
