Nickel, precursor of men’ skincare Photographer Gyslain Yarhi
Soft Skin, silky hair, fresh look… Today man is entitled to beauty care. Nickel has understood this since longtime ago. In 1996, the French brand ignored the old clichés and succeeded in democratizing the men’s skin care while they were hesitant.

‘U’ Mode & Shopping
After 16 years and many successes, the pioneer of cosmetics 100 % for men is still popular. Its secret? Products at the forefront, a true expertise spa and a unique approach to men’s beauty care. In short, a well identified frenchy brand. Let’s have a look at the three bestsellers.
‘ 10 ’
Hydration Even the least stylish man know that the hydration is the no. 1 precept for any self-respecting little face. Dry skin or combination skin, everyone will have its tube “beautiful face”, first creation of Nickel. For both types of skin, the ultra comfort texture protects and nourishes your skin. Its micronutrients (zinc, manganese) stimulate cell renewal and Vitamin E moisturizes and preserves the youthfulness of the skin. A perfect cocktail for the winter. Freshness Exhausting week, jet lag or short sleep? Always to meet the needs of men, Nickel has created “Day after the gala”, a very special skincare product which has become a cult for beauty. Formulated with caffeine, menthol, wheat protein and soy,
this product stimulates and tones the tired skin by restoring its shine. The latest version of this miracle product, “Electro Shock” was inspired by the recipe for Mojito (lime, mint and sugar). Result: tired marks are deleted and the clubbers are reboosted. Perfection In terms of beauty, man wants the result. And quickly. That is why there are many who join the Grand bluff skincare, one of the star innovations of Nickel. After a few applications, the imperfections are less visible, and complexion unified. Magic! This precious elixir makes your skin perfect and glossy. What finally convinced the last reluctant. Laure de Régloix www.kissmyart.fr

Light on the treasures of Van Cleef & Arpels Photographer Grégoire Mahler
The Museum of Decorative Arts sparkles. Transformed into a giant jewel case, it accommodates 500 most beautiful pieces of Van Cleef & Arpels. Highlighted by a delicate blue night scenery, these fabulous jewels tell the history of the brand. Or the ultimate quest for perfection and elegance. 1906, Paris. Alfred Van Cleef joined his brother Charles Arpels to create a first boutique at 22 Place Vendôme. Quickly, successes were coming. At the beginning, the jewels were exclusively made in diamonds, then enriched with rubies, emeralds and sapphires from 1924. Creations exploded with colors. The Legend Van Cleef & Arpels was born. There is no shortage of ideas for the jeweler. The years 30’s marked by the crisis gave rise
to the invention of transforming parts such as clips or Minaudière, an ingenious storage device created in 1933 as a tribute to Van Cleef’s wife who “minaudait”. The same year, it developed a revolutionary expertise in the technique of precious stones mounting without apparent claw: the Mystery Setting. Through films and preparatory drawings, the exhibition goes behind the scenes of the workshops and pays tribute to the Golden Hands who hold these precious secrets. Throughout the exhibition, the years pass and were born new themes: fauna, flora, Art Deco geometry and Egyptomania in the 20’s and dancers or “textile jewelery” from the 40’s. The most famous inventions punctuate the exhibition such as the bracelet Zip famous for its adjustable feature,

suggested at the time by the Duchess of Windsor. Note that many beautiful ladies had ordered from the jeweler: Grace of Monaco, the Empress Farah Pahlavi, Jacky Kennedy, Elizabeth Taylor and more recently Princess Charlene of Monaco, whose magnificent tiara sits majestically in a window case. Every jewel has a story. So for 10 years, designers have been more than ever inventive, daring and innovative. The spectacular set of butterflies lacquerware, made in 2008 by the architect
San Hakose proves this burst of creativity. “To have good luck you must believe in chance,” repeated Jacques Arpels. So to celebrate his motto, the house has created this year, the collection “Palace of Chance” with the necklace Phoenix which closes the exhibition. The fantastic animal symbolizes renewal, probably the best key to longevity of Van Cleef & Arpels. Laure de Régloix www.kissmyart.fr
