Estimados lectores, Estimadas lectoras DEAR READERS LIEBE LESER, LIEBE LESERINNEN
Desde UXXS Magazine, la comunidad LGBT de Gran Canaria quiere dar una cálida bienvenida a todas y todos los que han venido a celebrar el GayPride de Maspalomas, porque sois el alma de la fiesta. Durante una semana haremos que ser gay, lesbiana, bisexual, queer o transexual sea divertido. ¡Es la celebración!, de todo lo logrado, del esfuerzo que nos ha costado, y para recordarnos que todavía queda mucho que conseguir en todo el mundo, y que seguiremos mostrándonos visibles para ofrecer esperanzas a quienes todavía no lo han alcanzado, y enseñarles que el trabajo y las ganas de poder vivir en igualdad vale la pena. También queremos agradecer a todas y todos la gran acogida que tuvo el anterior número de UXXS: nos ha llegado el mensaje ALTO y CLARO. Es más fácil de llevar, más ameno, y aunque el cambio de formato nos ha producido algunos desajustes, nos acostumbraremos a este nuevo tamaño. La respuesta del empresariado ha sido genial también. Por todo ello, estamos también de celebración. Gracias...

GayPride because you are the life of the party. For a week to be gay, lesbian, bisexual, queer or transsexual has to be fun. It is the celebration of everything achieved, the effort, and to remind us that there is still much to achieve in the world, and we will continue to show our visibility in order to offer hope to those who have not reached yet, and to teach them that the work and the desire to live as equals is worth the effort. We also want to thank everyone for the great reception to the last UXXS issue: we have received the message loud and clear. It is easier to carry, more enjoyable, and although the format change has produced some mismatches, we will get used to the new size. The business response has been great too. Durch das UXXS Magazine schickt die GLBT-Community von Gran Canaria ein herzliches Willkommen an alle die uns besuchen um die Gay Pride Maspalomas zu feiern. Denn ihr seit ein Teil dieser Veranstaltung, für eine Woche haben wir richtig viel Spass und können schwul, lesbisch, bisexuell und transsexuell sein. Wir wollen das feiern was wir erreicht haben, den Aufwand den es uns gekostet hat und

Y desde luego, Maspalomas no iba a ser menos. Witty, funny and international. No doubt are the adjectives we can apply to this Drag, who can be seen every year at major events in whole Europe. And of course, Maspalomas not going to be less. Witzig, lustig und international. Kein Zweifel kann Adjektive, die zu dieser Drag, die jedes Jahr gesehen können bei GroSSveranstaltungen in Europa angewendet werden kann. Und natürlich, Maspalomas nicht zu weniger.

UM 11 ¿Quien se esconde por debajo de estas pelucas? ¿Quién es Franka? Eso me pregunto a mí misma a veces. Profesionalmente soy peluquero autónomo, en privado un hombre de familia y buen amigo, y como drag un poca loca con un toque de diva. ¿Cómo se consigue ser una de las Drag más conocidas de Europa? ¿De veras? ¡Muchas gracias por el piropo! Creo que es por el hecho de viajar por toda Europa a diversos orgullos gays, carnavales, etc. Hace 30 años que lo hago. Eso, y mis disfraces originales también.

Tienes un estilo muy propio, ¿cómo consigues las ideas para unos diseños tan locos? Las inspiraciones me llega en la vida diaria, como el cactus, los tacones, lámpara, lavadora o el tiempo, por ejemplo. Como ser creativo que soy, me grabo mis ideas y pienso cómo podría convertirlas en disfraces. ¿Te haces tus disfraces tú mismo? Es mi hobby y en mi tiempo libre paso muchas horas y días trabajando en ellos, no hay ningún sastre que pueda convertir mis ideas como yo me las imagino. ¡Eso significa que hago TODO a mano! Hay que coser, peinar, pegar, estilizar lo que uno puede y creo que la pistola de cola caliente es un invento genial y siempre la tengo puesta en marcha. ¿Nos puedes contar una anécdota graciosa de vida como drag queen? Who is hiding under all those wigs? Who is Franka? I ask that myself sometimes. Professionally I am a self employed hairdresser, in private a family man and good friend, and as a drag I am a bit crazy with a hint of diva. How did you become one of the most know drags in the whole of Europe? Am I really? Well, thank you very much for the compliment. Well I think that the simple fact that I have been travelling to Gay Prides, Carnivals etc all over Europe in the last 30 years might have something to do with it. And I guess that my very and original costumes might be a reason as well. You have a very unique and own style, how do get the ideas for your crazy costumes? The ideas come to me in everyday life like for example the cactus, the high heels, the lamp shade, the washing machine or the time. Like the creative person I am, I save my ideas to later think about if and how I could convert them into costumes.

Además el clima de aquí, sobre todo si en Alemania hace frio. Paso cada año mis vacaciones aquí y seguiré siendo fiel con ideas nuevas en el futuro. ¡Viva España!
Who manufactures your costumes, or are you doing that yourself? Well it is my hobby and in my spare time I spend hours and days working on my costumes, because I know that there wouldn´t be a tailor who could convert my ideas. This means I do it all by hand! I have to saw, comb, glue and style like mad and I seriously consider the hot glue gun to be the best invention ever, and it never runs cold!
UM 12 Could you tell us a funny episode of your life as drag, please? Well for example, on a flight to Gran Canaria my extra luggage didn`t arrive. At the information desk I was asked what the content was (3 massive paper maché urinals). I said they were household items as I couldn’t tell the truth otherwise they would have thought me mad. If you had one free wish to come true, what would it be? Botox for everyone, at the discounter LIDL. We are seeing you quite a bit here on Gran Canaria, what’s the reason for it? I just love the international crowd and the Spanish mentality and fun is just adorable. Whether in Carnivals or Gay Pride I always have wonderful experiences and then there is the effect of recognition and people come up and talk to me in different languages, they pay me compliments and are happy to see me. And not to forget the climate, especially if it’s cold in Germany I spend my holidays here every year, and I promise I will stay faithful to you and bring you my new ideas in the future. Viva España!
Wer steckt unter diesen verrückten Perücken, wer ist Franka? Das frage ich mich manchmal selbst! Beruflich bin ich selbständiger Friseurmeister, privat ein Familienmensch und guter Freund und als Drag ein bisschen Crazy mit einem Hauch von Diva. Wie schafft man es zu einer der bekanntesten Drag Queens Europas zu werden? Bin ich das - dann vielen Dank für das schöne Kompliment! Ich denke die Beständigkeit seit
UM 13 30 Jahren zu diversen Gay Prides, Karneval etc. Europaweit zu reisen und die originellen Kostüme, die in Erinnerung bleiben, tragen viel dazu bei. Du hast einen sehr eigenen Stil, wie kommen dir die Ideen zu deinen verrückten Kostümen? Die Inspirationen kommen aus dem alltäglichen Leben, wie z.B. Kaktus, High Heels, Lampenschirm, Die Zeit, Waschmaschine usw... als kreativer Mensch speichere ich einfach alles und überlege mir ob man daraus nicht ein Kostüm machen könnte. Wer macht dir diese Kostüme oder legst du selbst Hand an? Es ist mein Hobby in meiner Freizeit und in vielen Stunden und Tagen an den Kostümen zu arbeiten und kein Schneider könnte meine Ideen so umsetzen, wie ich es mir vorstelle, d.h. ich mache ALLES selbst in mühevoller Handarbeit! Es wird genäht, frisiert geklebt gestylt was das Zeug hält und die Heißklebepistole ist für mich eine geniale Erfindung und läuft auf Hochtouren! Kannst du uns eine lustige Situation aus deinem Leben als Drag Queen schildern? z.b. Bei einem Flug nach Gran Canaria ist mein Übergepäck (riesiger Karton) nicht mit angekommen und bei der Gepäckermittlung fragte man mich was den darin gewesen sei und (es waren 3 Pissiuare aus Pappmaché) ich Antworte mit Haushaltsartikel, konnte doch nicht den waren Inhalt angeben man hätte mich für verrückt erklärt. Wenn du einen Wunsch frei hättest was würdest du dir Wünschen? Botox für alle beim Discounter “Lidl” ! Wir sehen dich hier immer auf Gran Canaria wie kommt das und gibt es einen Grund dafür? Ich liebe das internationale Publikum und vor allem die spanische Mentalität und Begeisterungsfähigkeit! Ob zum Karneval oder zum Gay Pride es ist immer wieder ein super Erlebnis für mich und habe einen riesigen Wiedererkennungs- Effekt hier, die Leute sprechen mich in vielen verschiedenen Sprachen an um mir Komplimente zu machen und freuen sich mich zu sehen und zu treffen .Dazu kommt das warme Klima, wenn es in Deutschland kalt ist verbringe ich jedes Jahr meinen Urlaub hier auf Gran Canaria und werde euch auch in Zukunft mit neuen Ideen treu bleiben! Steps to move beyond the closet Schritte für dein Outing Si acabas de decidir “salir del armario” y estás dando los primeros pasos: ¡enhorabuena! Puede que te parezca difícil, pero estás haciendo algo muy importante: ser sincero contigo mismo y no vivir más una mentira. Y queremos ayudarte. 1. Vence tu propia homofobia: gais y lesbianas también venimos de una educación con conceptos negativos de la homosexualidad. Debemos quitarnos esa visión negativa y permitirnos ser homosexuales. 2. A quién contárselo: tras vivir con lo que para ti es tu gran secreto, no metas la pata y lo cuentes a alguien que crea que somos pervertidos o que es una pandemia como la gripe aviar. Háblalo con quien sepas va a reaccionar bien, que te guardará el secreto y te pueda aconsejar. 3. Hablarlo con los padres: si crees que pueden reaccionar mal, no lo sueltes de golpe, es mejor ir dejando pistas. Por ejemplo, un día te puedes dejar la UXXS sobre la mesa del salón. Tus padres también necesitan su propio proceso de aceptación. 4. Busca otros gais y lesbianas: tu amiga Maripuri te ha comprendido perfectamente y te acepta como eres, pero es importante la búsqueda de iguales, otros gais y lesbianas. Es mag schwierig sein, aber du machst etwas sehr wichtiges: Sei ehrlich mit Dir selbst und lebe nicht länger eine Lüge. Und wir wollen dir helfen. 1. Besiege deine eigene Homophobie: Schwule und Lesben haben auch in der Rgel eine Erziehung genossen, die durch negative Vorstellungen von Homosexualität geprägt wurde. Wir müssen weg von dieser negativen Sichtweise
und müssen zulassen.

Wem soll man es sagen: nachdem Du mit deinem grossen Geheimnis gelebt hast, vermassele es nicht und erzähle es nicht jemandem der denkt wir sind Perverse oder Schwulsein ist eine Pandemie wie die Vogelgrippe. Spreche mit denen von denen Du weisst sie werden positiv reagieren, das Geheimnis bewahren und die dir mit Rat und Tat zur Seite stehen. 3. Siempre interesado por fisionomías no hegemónicas, por lo que sus modelos suelen ser hombres maduros, más bien gruesos, que muestran su lado más vulnerable exhibiendo sus pasiones, en escenas “aparentemente” idílicas y exentas de turbulencia, pero que muchos conocemos como otra realidad. Pablo Burgos ¿Qué reacción te gustaría provocar en el público? Me gustaría excitar, porque significaría que, al menos momentáneamente, te ha interesado. La excitación te provoca inquietud, te remueve y estimula, de ahí que muchas veces “mis hombres” reten al espectador con su mirada, como diciendo: y tú, ¿qué?, ¿te animas? ¿Hay mensaje en tu obra? Me gustaría pensar que sí, aunque supongo que dependerá del espectador. Como toda obra de arte, lo que realizo esconde todo un programa ideológico, que en mi caso tiene que ver con el cuestionamiento de la imagen heteronormativa. ¿Entonces haces activismo desde tu obra? Por supuesto que sí, tiene mucho de reivindicación LGTB. Creo que todo lo personal es político. Como marica tengo el deber de reivindicar y defender la normalización de mis derechos y, no sólo las diferencias sino también las similitudes con lo hetero. Utilizo el arte para hacerlo, y no sólo como artista, también como docente, incluyendo entre mis propuestas didácticas problemáticas de género que
hagan meditar y posicionarnos sobre su vigencia.
What reaction would you like to have on the public? I like to excite, because it would mean that, at least momentarily, you`re interested. The excitement causes you to concern, to move and stimulate, hence many times “my men” retain the viewer with their gaze, as if they say: and you, what? will you play? Is there a message in your work? I like to think so, but I guess it depends on the viewer. Like all art works, I try to hide a little ideology, which in my case is about questioning the straight-normative image. So do you use your work as kind of activism? Of course it has a lot of LGBT claim. I think all personal things are as well political. As a queer I have to vindicate and defend the normalization of my rights and not only the differences but also the similarities with straights. I use art to do so, not just as an artist, as well as a teacher, including suggestions about my gender issues do meditate and position on its validity.

Welche Reaktion würdest Du gerne beim Publikum auslösen? Ich mag es spannend, denn das würde bedeuten, dass, zumindest momentan, Interesse besteht. Die Aufregung verursacht Sorge, Bewegung und Stimulation, da “meine Männer” oft den Betrachter mit ihrem Blick festhalten, als wollten sie sagen: “ Und Du, spielst Du mit?” Gibt es eine Botschaft in deiner Arbeit? Ich möchte mal denken schon, aber das hängt vom Betrachter ab. Wie in allen Kunstwerken, verbirgt sich eine ideologische Agenda, was in meinem Fall zur Frage gestellt wird ist das typische “heteroBild”. So, steckt Aktivismus in deiner Arbeit? Natürlich hat es eine Menge LGBT Anspruch. Ich denke, alles persönliche ist auch politisch. Als Schwuler habe ich die Pflicht, die Normalisierung meiner Rechte und nicht nur die Unterschiede zu rechtfertigen und zu verteidigen, sondern auch die Gemeinsamkeiten mit Heterosexuellen. Ich benutze Kunst um das zu tun, nicht nur als Künstler, sondern auch als Lehrer, mit Anregungen für den Unterricht in Geschlechterfragen und Standpunkte auf ihre Gültigkeit zu prüfen.

¿Parodia o compromiso?
Parody or compromise? // Parodie oder Kompromiss? entre crítica y público. ¿Está el espectador preparado para un cambio en la forma de contar las relaciones homosexuales en el cine? Tal vez Brokeback Mountain (2005) dio a entender que sí ¿Qué hubiera pasado si Weekend se hubiera distribuido en España con una campaña mediática como la de Almodóvar? Tal vez solo se trate de cine bueno o malo.
“El problema es que nadie lo irá a ver, porque se trata de sexo gay. Los gays irán solo porque quieren ver un cuerpo desnudo y un pene…. Y los heterosexuales no irán porque, no va con su mundo. Van a ver imágenes de refugiados, de muerte, de violación… ¿pero de sexo gay? Jamás...” Estas palabras de la película Weekend (2012), reflejan un problema habitual cuando se intenta afrontar una obra de arte con temática homosexual. O se cae en los estereotipos cómicos para intentar no incomodar a cierto público, o te arriesgas a un cine más minoritario. Entre esos extremos ha basculado el cine gay. Esta temporada hemos visto dos formas de acercarse al tema: la parodia ochentena de Los Amantes Pasajeros (2013), o el cine que profundiza en las relaciones humanas ejemplarizada con Weekend. Es curioso como la primera ha suscitado críticas dispares pero mayoritariamente frías, mientras la película inglesa ha tenido gran número de parabienes

They’ll watch images of refugees, death, rape ... but gay sex? Never ... “ These words of the film Weekend (2012) reflect a common problem when trying to introduce a work of gay-themed art. Or falling back on comic stereotypes in order not to inconvenience certain audience, or you may risk a minority cinema. Gay cinema has tilted between these two extremes. This season we have seen two ways to approach the topic with the Eighties parody Los Amantes Pasajeros (2013), or the film Weekend that explores human relationship. It’s funny how the first movie has raised mixed reviews but mostly cold, while the British film received many compliments from critics and audiences. Are viewers ready for a change in the way a homosexual relationship is portrait in the cinema? Maybe Brokeback Mountain (2005) hinted a yes, what would have happened if the film Weekend would have been distributed in Spain with a media campaign like Almodóvar`s movie? Perhaps it`s only about good or bad cinema..

In dieser Saison hatten wir zwei Möglichkeiten, um das Thema näher zu betrachten, einmal mit der Achtziger - Parodie „Los Amantes Pasajeros“ (2013) oder dem Film „Weekend“, der menschliche Beziehungen erforscht. Es ist komisch, dass der erste Film gemischte Bewertungen bekam und die meistens ablehnenden, während der britische Film viele Komplimente von Kritikern und Publikum bekam. Sind die Zuschauer bereit für eine Veränderung der Art und Weise in der eine schwule Beziehung im Kino porträtiert wird? Vielleicht wie Brokeback Mountain (2005) deutete schon ein Ja an. Was wäre passiert, wenn man den Film Weekend in Spanien mit einer Medienkampagne wie Almodóvar `s Film beworben hätte? Vielleicht geht es aber auch nur um gutes oder schlechtes Kino.

sonreír, uniéndome a la fiesta, entregada, disfrutando y dejándome llevar. Saber que eres quien hace bailar y hace olvidar los problemas de todos durante unos instantes, es estar en una nube.
¿Qué te gustaría hacer? Estoy empezando a producir, y sacar mis temas con unos buenos sellos no estaría nada mal. Puestos a pedir, pinchar en unos Juegos Olímpicos, o en un desfile de Victoria’s Secret.
How do you define your style? Like me, hard and strong, with a touch of elegance and subtlety in the mix. The touch of freshness with tech house, and more powerful techno make my sessions very characteristic, mixing feminine look with more aggressive sound without leaving the level, which amazes and engages the audience. What do you feel when you work? It’s hard to explain how it feels. By being in the cockpit, with the audience dancing and watching over you, I feel a fulfillment, that makes me laugh and smile, joining the party, engaging, enjoying and letting myself go with the flow. Knowing that it is you who makes people dance and forget all the problems for a while, is to be like on a cloud. What would you like to do? I’m starting to produce, and releasing my songs with a good label would not be bad. If I could make a wish, it would be to play at the Olympics or at a Victoria’s Secret Show.
Wie definierst Du deinen Sie Stil? Wie ich, hart und stark, mit einem Hauch von Eleganz und Subtilität in einem Mix. Der Hauch von Frische mit Tech-House und hartem Techno machen meine Sessions sehr charakteristisch. Ich mische Weiblichkeit mit aggressiven Sound, ohne meine Klasse zu verlieren, das ergreift und verblüfft das Publikum. Was fühlst Du, wenn Du auflegst? Es ist schwer zu erklären, wie es sich anfühlt. Im Cockpit zu stehen, Leute zum Tanzen zu bringen, erfüllt mich so sehr dass es mich zum Lachen bringt, mich mitreisst, genießen lässt und mich dazu bringt mich fallen zu lassen. Zu wissen, dass du es bist, der die leute tanzen und ihre Sorgen für einen Moment vergessen lässt, ist wie auf einer Wolke zu schweben. Was würdest Du noch gerne tun? Jetzt beginne ich zu produzieren, und meine Songs mit einem guten Label aufzunehmen wäre nicht schlecht. Wenn ich einen Wunsch hätte, würde ich gerne mal bei den Olympischen Spielen oder bei einer Victoria Secret Show auflegen.

Ya tenemos otro Gay Pride encima – o debajo, cada uno a lo suyo- que este año anuncia una participación estimada en 150.000 personas, cifra espectacular, aunque no total, de ese tanto por ciento privilegiado de la raza humana que emplea su tiempo en hacer pesas, comprar ropa y ligar por el teléfono. Es la celebración del Orgullo algo más que una fiesta? Necesitamos excusas para ir de fiesta? Por qué son tan aburridos los dj´s? En 1969 un grupo de drag queens decidió plantar cara y tacón a los llamados guardianes del orden y exigir un espacio público seguro y a salvo de juicios morales donde celebrar la diversidad emocional y sentimental, exteriorizar
calentones sin miedo a perder la vida, y homenajear a los variados iconos culturales que representan la psique, mucho tiempo atormentada y perseguida, de lesbianas, gays, transexuales y bisexuales. Desde entonces, la comunidad del cockring ha logrado importantes y necesarias conquistas sociales al precio de asimilar las tendencias más conformistas de una sociedad adormecida en la que sigue sin haber sitio para las ideas y las actitudes vitales disidentes. ¿Y por qué no iba a ser así? La pertenencia a un determinado grupo cosificado en sus costumbres y características no garantiza el ser mejor persona. O peor. Que de ahí es de donde venimos. Y donde parece que
seguimos, con discusiones obsoletas, argumentaciones desquiciadas por ambas partes, y las mismas máscaras congeladas, sin espacio para el crecimiento racional y la educación en el respeto para todos, más allá de cierto maquillaje en la terminología.

UM 37 In 1969 a group of drag queens decided to stand up and face the so-called guardians of order and demand a safe and secure public space of moral judgments to celebrate emotional and sentimental diversity, externalize heat without fear for their lives, and honor the varied cultural icons representing the psyche, long tormented and persecuted, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender. Since then, the community cockring has made significant and necessary social gains to absorb price trends, numb conformist society in which there is still no place for ideas and attitudes of vital dissidents. And why shouldn’t it be? The membership of a particular group reified in their customs and characteristics does not guarantee a better person. Or worse. That’s where we come from. And as it seems we carry on with discussions and obsolete deranged arguments on both sides, the same frozen masks, with no room for rational growth and education in respect for all, beyond a certain makeup in terminology.

Im Jahr 1969 beschloss eine Gruppe von Drag Queens den Aufstand und suchte die konfrontierung gegen die Gesetzeshüter und forderten einen sicheren öffentlichen Raum für freie moralische Urteile, emotional und sentimental vielfältig, zum feiern ohne Angst um sein Leben zu haben und die vielfältigen kulturellen Symbole zu Ehren die die Psyche von Lesben, Schwulen, Bisexuellen und Transgendern so lange gequält und verfolgt hat. Seitdem hat die Cockring Gemeinde erhebliche und notwendige soziale Fortschritte gemacht. Was uns viel gekostet hat, trotz allem haben wir die gleichgültige Gesellschaft abssorbiert in der es noch keinen Platz für Ideen und Ideologien gibt. Und warum sollte es auch nicht so sein? Die Zugehörigkeit zu einer bestimmten Gruppe in ihren Sitten und Eigenschaften ist keine Garantie für eine bessere Person. Oder noch schlimmer. Wir sind halt wie wir sind. Und wie es scheint, machen wir mit Diskussionen, alten Argumenten auf beiden Seiten weiter mit den gleichen gefrorenen Gesichtszügen und mit keinem Raum für vernünftiges Wachstum und Bildung für den Respekt aller, aber im alten Trott weitermachen nur mit anderen Worten.

Alojamiento
Aunque la oferta alojativa es muy amplia, nuestra recomendación es la de los complejos realmente GayFriendly. Muchos hoteles que se ofertan como gayfriendly luego no lo son tanto, aparte que no contribuyen para nada a la promoción del turismo LGTB, ni hacen nada por la comunidad. Si estás interesado en poder “recibir visitas” en tu habitación, está claro que dichos hoteles no son una buena opción. Nuestra recomendación, hoteles y complejos gay. En ellos, no habrá lugar a dudas. Además, a muchos de ellos se puede acceder a sus instalaciones durante el día para disfrutar de ellas: gimnasio, piscina, jacuzzi, sauna, zonas de cruising, etc., por una módica entrada. Ello te puede servir para conocer sus instalaciones y así decidirte por ellos para tus próximas vacaciones.
¿Qué visitar?
Gran Canaria es mucho más que Playa del Inglés, y recorrer la isla te hará entender porqué a Gran Canaria se le conoce como un continente en miniatura. Hay muchas excursiones que te recomendamos y sitios donde ir, des-
de museos, parques temáticos, de compras, o simplemente de paseo. Y la capital isleña y la zona interior de la isla es algo que no te debes perder. En este número, te mostramos una excursión que te tomará gran parte del día y que puedes hacer alquilando un coche. ¿Dónde comer?
Tienes muchísimas opciones, desde luego, y depende de lo que quieras hacer (si vas de ruta, o de compras, o a la playa). Para empezar bien el día podríamos recomendarte varias opciones para cada ocasión, desde un desayuno sencillo hasta un brunch en condiciones, optando por cafeterías que puedes encontrar entre los anunciantes de nuestra revista. Para almorzar puedes encontrar diversos estilos de comida internacional y típica canaria. Muchos restaurantes, puesto que la mayoría del público opta por la piscina o la playa durante el día, abren por la tarde-noche, para ofrecer la cena, en un horario que pueda contentar a los que cenan temprano (normalmente resto de europeos) y a los que cenan más tarde (sobre todo el turista español). Puedes optar por tapas, pasta y pizzas, carne, comida mexicana, ensaladerías, …. A media tarde, de vuelta de la playa, es casi obligación hacer parada para tarta y café (o infusión, o un cóctel). En la misma avenida de Tirajana encontrarás un café que te permite, además, estar atento al paisaje que desfila por delante camino a su alojamiento.
Día de playa
Si te alojas en Playa del Inglés, lo más normal será que vayas a alguna de las playas locales, más grandes y más turísticas también, como Playa del Inglés o Maspalomas, pero la geografía insular te ofrece más opciones, desde las playas de piedra o
arena negra del norte de la isla, con una belleza singular, no tan frecuentadas ya que su acceso a veces es más complejo, y con público principalmente isleño, hasta zonas rocosas en la base de acantilados. En cualquier caso, es necesario, si accedes a cualquiera de ellas tener precaución con el estado del mar, ya que las mareas (al subir) pueden depararnos sorpresas desagradables (como dejarnos aislados, o a merced de un oleaje intenso). What to see?

Las playas, además, te pueden dar la oportunidad de conocer gente, sobre todo si acudes a aquellas zonas que son frecuentadas por el público gay, y que prácticamente en cada playa encontrarás (sólo pon a funcionar tu rádar… o tu móvil si tiene cobertura). ¡Quién sabe si encontrarás alguien que quiera compartir algo más que una conversación, o unos días, o mucho más tiempo!

Where to eat?
You have many options, of course, and depends on what you do (if you are going on a tour, or shopping, or the beach). To start the day we could recommend several options for every occasion, from a simple breakfast to a brunch in conditions, opting for coffee shops you can find among our magazine advertisers. For lunch you can find many styles of international cuisine and typical Canarian cuisine. Many restaurants, since most of the public chooses the pool or the beach during the day, open in the evening, to offer dinner, on a schedule that can please the early dining (usually other Europeans) and the later dining (especially the Spanish tourist). You can opt for tapas, pasta and pizza, steaks, Mexican food, Saladbars .... In the afternoon, back from the beach, is almost obliged to stop for cake and coffee (or tea, or cocktail). In the same Avenida de Tirajana you can find a Coffe Shop that where you also watch what walks past on their way to their accommodation.
Beach Day
If you stay in Playa del Inglés, normally you will go to one of the local beaches, the big touristy ones that include Playa del Inglés Beach or Maspalomas, but the island’s
geography offers more options, from the pebble beaches or black sand in the north of the island, with a unique beauty. They are not so frequented because access is often more complex, and mainly locals visit the rocky areas at the base of cliffs. In any case, it is necessary, if you access any of them be careful with the condition of the sea, since the tides (when rising) can hold unpleasant surprises for us (like leaving us isolated, or at the mercy of huge waves). V e r y important, in any case, is the use of sunscreens. They won’t prevent you from tanning, but will help you to avoid burns that can spoil the rest of the holiday and leave you with a bad memory. The solar radiation in the Canary Islands, due to the proximity to the tropics, is very intense. Zimmer empfangen willst, ist eins klar, dass diese Hotels keine gute Wahl sind. Unsere Empfehlung, schwule Hotels und Resorts. Da gibt es kein Platz für Zweifel. Darüber hinaus bieten viele von ihnen Zugang zu ihren Einrichtungen wie: Fitnessraum, Pool, Jacuzzi, Sauna oder Cruising Zone, etc., teilweise auch gegen eine kleine Gebühr. Zum Mittagessen gibt es verschiedene Möglichkeiten von internationaler Küche bis zur typisch kanarischen Küche. Es gibt viele Restaurants, da aber die meisten Leute tagsüber am Pool oder Strand sind, öffnen viele erst zum Abendessen und stellen sich auch auf Alle ein, die frühen Esser (in der Regel andere Europäer) und die spätere Esser (vor allem spanische Touristen). Ihr könnt Euch für Tapas, Pasta und Pizza, Steaks, mexikanische Speisen oder Salatbars entscheiden, die Palette ist sehr vielfältig Am Nachmittag zurück vom Strand ist fast schon Pflicht, für Kuchen und Kaffee (oder Tee oder Cocktail) zu stoppen. In der Avenida de Tirajana findet Ihr einige Cafés von wo man schön beobachten kann was so vorbei läuft (sehen und gesehen werden), auf dem Weg ins Yumbo oder zur Unterkunft.
Strand-Tag
Wenn Ihr in Playa del Ingles seit, werdet ihr in der Regel zu einem der lokalen Strände gehen, den großen touristischen die zu Playa del Ingles oder Maspalomas gehören. Aber die Insel bietet mehr Möglichkeiten, z.B. die Kiesstrände, künstlichangelegte Strände im Westen der Insel oder die Strände mit schwarzem Sand im Norden der Insel die mit ihrer einzigartigen Schönheit begeistern. Sie sind nicht so stark frequentiert weil der Zugang oft schwierig ist, die felsige Gebiete die an der Basis der Klippen liegen werden vor allem von Einheimischen besucht. In jedem Fall ist es notwendig vorsichtig zu sein, da die Wassergezeiten unangenehme Überraschungen für uns bereithalten können (Ablaufendes Wasser, Riesenwellen etc.) also auch auf die beflagung des Roten Kreuzes achten. In jedem Fall ist die Verwendung von Sonnenschutzmitteln sehr wichtig. Sie werden nicht verhindern dass Ihr braun werdet, aber sie helfen um Verbrennungen zu vermeiden die einem den Rest des Urlaubs versauen können und in schlechter Erinnerung bleiben. Die Sonneneinstrahlung auf den Kanarischen Inseln ist auf grund der Nähe zu den Tropen sehr intensiv auch wenn der Himmel trüb und bewölkt scheint. Die Strände geben Euch die Gelegenheit Leute zu treffen, besonders wenn Ihr zu jenen Bereichen geht die von Schwulen frequentiert werden, Ihr werden einige an fast jedem Strand finden vor allem aber an der 7 in Maspalomas (setzt eueren Radar ein ... oder euer Smartphone wenn ihr Verbindung habt.). Wer weiß, ob Ihr jemand findet der mehr als nur ein Gespräch sucht oder jemanden für ein paar Tage mehr, für etwas mehr.

The King Borbon Sprigs//Die Spitzen des Borbón Königs Francisco de Borbón era un segundón que fue obligado a casarse con su prima, la reina soltera de España, Isabel II. Ésta, de solo 16 años, montó en cólera y amenazó con abdicar chillando: “¡Con Paquita no! ¡Con la prima Paquita no!” Se dice que en la noche de bodas la reina exclamó al ver a su esposo en pijama: -.”¡Por Dios, Paco, si llevas más puntillas que yo!”.Desde entonces la relación entre ambos fue imposible. Él lo intentó al principio, manteniendo las apariencias pero ella se entregó a una larga colección de amantes y no perdía ocasión para herir en público a su afeminado consorte. Sin ninguna intención de esperar a su marido en la alcoba, por el lecho de la reina pasaron ministros, play-boys, aristócratas y hasta el ingeniero Puig i Moltó, supuesto padre de Alfonso XII. La conducta licenciosa de la reina llegó a ser tan escandalosa que el Vaticano amenazó con la excomunión. Isabel rápidamente prometió reformarse y a cambio del perdón del Santo Padre entregó tierras y prerrogativas a la iglesia. Desde ese momento la reina fue aconsejada por el futuro santo, el padre María Claret y una extraña monja poseída por las llagas de Cristo, sor María de los Patrocinios. La reina intentaba esconder sus adulterios con políticas cada vez más reaccionarias y beatas. El pueblo se cansó de la ahora reina

The people got tired of the sanctimonious queen and so the liberals overthrew her in the Glorious Revolution of 1868 which had the support of the king.

Is there a Spanish gay argot?
De entrada, y hablando en términos absolutos, pienso que no. Creo que, más que la existencia de un exclusivo argot gay, lo que el colectivo homosexual español ha hecho es ‘recoger’ vocablos, giros y expresiones del lenguaje coloquial del español actual para ‘reutilizarlos‘ o ‘adaptarlos’ a nuevos y expresivos significados. En 2008, la editorial Egales publicó el primer volumen de
la serie Historias de Chueca, de Abel Arana, una novelita de entretenidísima lectura que recrea, con humor y sal gorda, el variopinto mundo gay madrileño. Aunque las aventuras que cuenta son, desde mi punto de vista, bastante superficiales, el autor lo hace con tal desparpajo y soltura que da en la diana reflejando ese lenguaje que, sin llegar a constituir un específico argot,
solemos identificar como una clave lingüística que identifica a algunas tribus del colectivo homosexual español. • El gay, como moderno que es, no echa pestes del uso de anglicismos. Hay tres adjetivos que, usados por todo aquel que antes se consideraba IN, ahora andan en boca de todos los que están a la última: -En la pág. 15 leemos: Uno lo que quiere es triunfar haciendo algo cool, porque cool es definitivamente lo que uno tiene que ser, vivir, bailar, comer y respirar… Habría que decir que, en el uso de cool, el gay ’inteligente’ se lo apropia y a veces lo usa con cierta ironía. Pero en los ambientes gays más convencionales, el término cool se emplea como auténtico gancho comercial. -Igual ocurre con los anglicismos fashion y casual, aunque éstos se encuentran más reducidos al campo de la indumentaria. -Y el no va más de la modernez en el gay que está a la última es cuando en su léxico intensifica los anglicismos anteriores con el aumentativo súper: Un gay moderno puede tener amistades superfashioncool.

Auf Seite 15 lesen wir: Man sollte danach streben etwas cooles zu tun, denn cool zu sein ist Alles leben, tanzen, essen und atmen ... Ich würde sagen, dass das Wort cool von inteligenten Schwulen angemessen und manchmal sogar mit gewisser Ironie verwendet wird. Aber bei „gewöhnlichen“ Schwulen wird der Begriff als kommerzieller Haken eingesetzt. -Das Gleiche gilt für die Anglizismen fashion und casual, aber diese sind mehr beschränkt auf das Gebiet der Mode. Und die ultimative des modernen Schwulen ist es sein Lexikon an Anglizismen noch um das Wort super zu erweitern: Ein moderner Schwuler kann superfashioncoole Freunde haben.

No sabe que él es diabético, y depende hormonalmente de la insulina, para que sus niveles de azúcar sean normales. La noche avanza, y terminan en su piso teniendo sexo. Normal. Quedan para otro día, en la cafetería donde se conocieron. Ese día llega, y allí está ella, centro de las burlas de sus amigas, ya que ha mantenido una relación con un “diabético”. ¡Se inyecta hormonas! Él se siente fatal porque no se lo había dicho, pero ¿se lo tenía que decir la primera noche? No lo ocultaba, pero tampoco consideró decírselo apenas conocerla. Ella se siente engañada. No es el “hombre” que buscaba, se aprovechó de ella ocultándole cosas. Dedicado a Conny, por ser una de las mujeres más

Sergio Nací en Ceuta, una preciosa ciudad pero donde entonces (y puedo decir que todavía hoy día) el hecho de ser gay no estaba bien visto. Después de adolescente acabé en Algeciras, una ciudad gaditana no mucho más avanzada pero con carreteras para poder volar al que llamo “mi mundo”. Después de vivir en la península, Alemania, Italia y en varias islas del archipiélago, acabé por tercera vez en Gran Canaria, de esto no hace mucho. Actualmente, vivo otra vez en Algeciras. Soltero y sin compromiso alguno…esto del amor está muy complicado… así que mejor solo.
I was born in Ceuta, a beautiful city but the fact of being gay then (and I can say even today) was frowned upon. After my teens I ended up in Algeciras, a city not far from Cádiz but with roads to fly I call “my world”. After living on mainland Spain, Germany, Italy and on several islands of the archipelago, ended up third time on Gran Canaria, and not long ago. Currently, I live again in Algeciras. Single and without obligation ... love is very complicated ... so better alone.
Ich wurde in Ceuta geboren, eine schöne Stadt (und das kann ich heute noch sagen) aber schwul sein wurde dort äussert misstrauisch beäugt. Nach meinen Teenager-Jahren landete ich in Algeciras, eine Stadt nicht weit von Cadiz, aber mit Straßen die sich zum Reisen eignen würden, ich nenne es „meine Welt“. Nachdem ich auf dem spanischen Festland, in Deutschland, Italien und auf einigen der kanarischen Inseln gelebt habe, kam ich zum dritten mal nach Gran Canaria, und das ist noch nicht lange her. Derzeit lebe ich wieder in Algeciras. Single und ohne Bindung ... Liebe ist sehr kompliziert ... Also besser allein.

Magdalenas con nubes Ingredientes: 90 gr de mantequilla 2 tazas de harina 6 cucharadas de cacao 3 cucharaditas de levadura en polvo 1 taza de azúcar 1/2 taza de chips de chocolate 1/2 taza de Marsmallows 1 huevo 1 1/4 taza de leche Ingredients: 90gr butter 2 cups flour 6 tablespoons cocoa 3 teaspoons baking powder 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup chocolate chips 1/2 cup marsh mallows 1 egg 1 1/4 cup milk Zutaten: 90 gr. Butter 2 Tassen Mehl 6 Esslöffel Kakao 3 Teelöffel Backpulver 1 Tasse Zucker 1/2 Tasse Schokotropfen 1/2 Tasse Marsmallows 1 Ei 1 1/4 Tasse Milch
Muffins mit Marsmallows
PreparaCiÓn Tome una lata de 12 muffins con cajitas de papel y precaliente el horno a 175 grados. Se derrite la mantequilla. En un tazón, mezcle la harina, el cacao, la levadura en polvo, el azúcar, el chocolate y los marshmellows. Mesclar los huevos, la mantequilla y la leche con la batidora y añade poco a poco la mezcla de harina hasta que se forme una masa firme Divida la masa en los 12 moldes y hornea unos 20 minutos. Retira del horno y deja que se enfrié sobre unas rejillas. Se puede espolvorear con azúcar glasé o decorar al gusto..

Ingredientes / Admixtures / Zutaten: 4 cl Zumo de manzana / 4 cl Apple Juice / 4 cl Apfelsaft 4 cl Zumo de Cranberry / 4 cl Cranberry Juice / 4 cl Cranberrysaft 4 cl Vodka / 4 cl Vodka / 4 cl Wodka 8 cl Ginger ale / 8 cl Ginger ale / 8 cl Ginger ale Hielo / Ice, to serve / Eiswürfel
Preparación: Mezcla el zumo de manzana, de cranberry y el vodka en una coctelera y agita hasta que la mezcla sea rosa y espumosa. Servir en una copa grande, agregar el Ginger Ale y abundantes cubitos de hielo. Decorar con una ramita de hierba buena y unos Cranberrys secos. Sabor a verano. Preparation: Place the apple juice, cranberry juice and vodka in a blender and whizz until pale pink and frothy. Pour into a large serving jug, add the ginger ale and a good handful of ice.
