Advertising Agency Fashion Showroom Bookstore / Cafe Water Color Sketches
01 Shift:
Sustainable Advertising Agency Year 3 | INTD 302 | Spring 2017 Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
objective: To create a sustainable advertising agency for a specific type of advertsing. This one has an all around focus. intention: After visiting a few advertising agencies in the city and doing research, I realized that the advertising industry is a fast paced and constantly changing industry. To account for this, I wanted to create a space that can be movable and adaptable based on any projects that the company is currently working on at that point in time. description: The main idea for my concept was having movable pieces and rooms. The main focus is in the conference room which is located in the middle of the space and when ultimate privacy is needed or they want to impress clients, a scissor-lift system lifts the entire room onto the roof for privacy and nature views. Other features are LCD panels on the ceiling of the waiting area that can project images of past projects or a client’s logo upon entering to personalize the space for them. There are also brainstoriming rooms that move in and out of the building over top of koi ponds where there is a glass floor. “Shift allows for ultimate personalization for both clients and workers in order to provide amazing advertisments and a great work environment.
Inspiration for the “mood of this advertising agency is incentive from the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. I found it very inspiring seeing how buildings and nature can be in such harmony and thought that was perfect for an office design. Natural woods are seen throughout the space along with greenwalls, greenroofs, and water feautures found outside.

THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST
Left: A scissor lift system was designed to help lift the conference room up to the roof for better views and more privacy. Perforated metal sheets that were nestled together was an idea taken from the elevator located in the Louvre in Paris where it folds upon itself to save room. Right: Sun analysis and water conservation analysis diagrams of the building were created to determine where certain sustainability factors could play into the design. Below: Workstations designed to be moveable with privacy when needed but also encourage collaboration. Bottom: A brainstorming room that slides in and out of the building depending on user’s needs. Glass floor is used to see a koi pond outside when room slides over top of it.
DAYLIGHTING STRATEGIES:
WATER CONSERVATION DIAGRAM:
duel flush toilets & waterless urinals
access to natural light through skylights
green roof for rainwater collection
daylight sensors
deciduous trees to block out intense summer light
underground cistern to store the rainwater - used in landscape irrigation
02 Moschino:
Italian Fashion Showroom Year 3 | INTD 301 | Fall 2016 Location: Rome, Italy
objective: To create an Italian fashion showroom for a well known Italian fashion house. intention: This fashion showroom is located right next to the Spanish Steps and is replacing the Valentino showroom. It is a very old building and much of the architecture could not be changed for the sake of historic preservation. The idea is to make it a high end showroom that really emphasizes the concepts that go into the brand’s fashion designs. description: Moschino is completely different than any other fashion designer and is considered very quirky and controversial. When observing his designs in the most recent fashion shows, I noticed a lot of contradiction and juxtaposition went into them so I put that into my design as well. What stood out the most was that his designs turned out to be such unique art pieces that i didnt want my design to distract from what he has created, so I went with a very simple black and white scheme with the pops of color being his clothes and accessories. I created a custom shelving unit that acts as if it is framing the product making it stand out as the art piece that it is.
03 Beyond:
Italian Bookstore/Cafe Year 3 | INTD 301 | Fall 2016 Location: EUR, Italy
objective: To design a bookstore/cafe for a famous Italian while collaborating with 4th year architecture students from different universities and compromising on a facade. intention: Designing for Luca Parmitano, who is a famous Italian airforce pilot and astronaut, I became inspired by the way gravity and the atmosphere work. description: I chose to make the bookstore/cafe for Luca Parmtano because the EUR is such an up and coming modern area which is so different than Rome, which is right near by. Also, Fuksas’s “The Cloud” is across the street and this building and it’s concept compliment eachother nicely. After much research on atmospherical layers and gravity, I designed bookshelves to mimic the ideals that the ground floor mimics Earth where things are anchored to the ground and orderly and as you get closer to outerspace, the bookshelves seem to rise and float and become much more organic and unknown. I wanted to create a “journey” through the bookstore that would want the clients who enter want to be eager to explore the entire space all the way to the 3rd level.

04 Watercolor Sketches:
Water Color Sketch A: July 2017 My second attempt at using watercolors as a creative medium. Applying what I learned from the first attempt (see water color sketch B) I blended and mixed a different amount of colors and also tried using different brush sizes for the palm trees and other plants seen in the composition. Water Color Sketch B: June 2017 My first ever attempt at using watercolors as a creative medium. With this, I learned how to mix the very limited number of water colors I had to create the colors I needed to complete the composition. I also learned which parts to sketch beforehand and what to add strictly with the watercolors.

05 Other Sketches:
Year 3 | INTD Elective | Fall 2016 Location: Rome, Italy
objective: While wandering around Rome for our visual journaling class, we had to draw plans, sections, elevations, and perspectives of famous architectural buildings. intention: At the end of the semester, we could use our notes and sketches from on site visits and then with 3 hours and only a pencil and sheet of 18”x24” paper, we had to fill a page in a way that portrayed the building’s architecture. description: The first set of drawings is the Ara Pacis museum designed by RIchard Meier. The second set of drawings is of the Pantheon
05 Other Sketches:
Year 2 | INTD 201/202 | Fall/Spring 2015/16 Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania To the right are a few hand drafted and hand rendered drawings of a culturally influenced apartment I designed in Philadelphia as part of my design 3 class. Below, is another hand drawn/rendered perspective from deisgn 4 of an audiology office. The rendering below is of the reception area.
