Adore Fashions is a Kids Boutique that launched in January 2013 in Vancouver. Our boutique focuses on providing high quality and luxury kids brands for children between 0~14 years old. Adore Fashion mostly agent the European kids brands and currently, there are : MONCLER, VERSACE, FENDI, KENZO, DOLCE&GABBANA, LANVIN and more. Adore Fashions為一家自2013年1月份于温哥华开业的童装精品店，我们主要是为0到14岁的儿童提供高质量和精緻的服装。Adore Fashions现主打欧洲风格的童装，代理的品牌有MONCLER，VERSACE，FENDI，KENZO，DOLCE&GABBANA，LANVIN等等。

能简单介绍一下Adore fashions的优势么？ We carefully select our brands and ensure that each individual brand delivers a certain level of quality throughout each season. We make sure the brands flow nicely throughout the store and there is a variety amongst the different genders and age groups. An important key to staying reputable in the industry is ensuring that our clients understand that all brands are sourced directly, making us an authentic authorized retailer. This makes a very important distinction.

Q: What caused you to open a luxury kids clothing boutique?

当初想做精品童装代理的契机是什么？ Children are more aware of luxury brands with the increased exposure to fashion media from a young age. They utilize many different social media outlets, such as Instagram, to share their daily looks or to learn about upcoming fashion trends. Adult high fashion has significantly picked up in the west coast within the last several years, I felt strongly about the children’s market too and I took the chance to open a store. 由于媒体对时尚的传播和曝光，越来越多小朋友开始对时尚品牌产生了兴趣以及时尚潮流的低龄化。他们会使用不同的社交媒体，比方说Instagram来分享他们日常的穿搭或者了解最新的潮流趋势, 因此我认为这方面有巨大的商机。在过去几年里，成人时尚在西岸迅速的发展，因此我强烈的感受到这似乎也意味着儿童的市场也可以得到扩展，所以我开了这样一家店。

What is your standard of choosing the kids brand?

您在挑选儿童品牌的标准是什么？ Knowing which brands are popular within the adults’ market is an important role in considering which children brands to carry. Mini-me versions work well as many parents want their children to have matching outfits or themes with them. DOLCE&GABBANA has been extremely successful in marketing mini-me themes and has been receiving positive feedbacks from our clients. However, there is a lot of trial and error in choosing the brands that work for a wide range of customers. Practicality is important! For example, Moncler does extremely well in our store for their down jackets as all kids need to stay warm in the Canadian winter. Quality is also crucial. 一般来说，知道在成人市场什么品牌比较受欢迎，对于在儿童市场的品牌选择上也是有帮助的。很多家长在选择童装的时候也希望自己的孩子的衣着能和他们的搭配，好比孩子就是自己的“Mini me”。在这一点上，DOLCE & GABBANA 做的非常好，在市场中也得到了良好的反馈。另外，实穿性也是很重要的。比方说Moncler 的儿童夹克衫在加拿大冬天的时候很实用，因为它特别保暖。因此，质量也是不容忽视的。

Q: Why did Adore Fashion decide to participate in our kids show?

能聊一聊这次和温哥华时装周儿童秀的合作感受如何么？ We are always excited to participate in events that support local causes. A portion of VFKW ticket sales will be donated to the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Thus, we wanted to be part of a fun and meaningful event. Also, participating with VFKW brings greater exposure for children luxury brands. These brands are very well advertised in Europe and other international countries that it is certainly time to further promote our fashion knowledge in Children’s luxury wear in Vancouver, Canada. 我们对于参加温哥华本地的活动都是非常积极主动地，特别是这一次部分的门票收入会捐给卑诗省儿童医院基金会。因此，我们十分希望为这个有趣又有意义的活动尽一份心力。另外，参与温哥华儿童时装周可以让更多的儿童奢侈品牌得到曝光。这些品牌大部分都在欧洲和其他国家有很高的知名度，所以我想通过这一次的参与可以让西岸，特别是温哥华，可以对这些儿童品牌有进一步的推广。

Cute Seal Inc. is a newly emerging toddler brand, based in Vancouver, Canada. This brand dedicates in providing safe and soft quality baby diapers and products. Cute Seal Inc. is a brand that was created by a loving father’s dedication to provide his child with safe and comfortable diapers. Previously to Cute Seal, the creator worked in the marine industry. Shortly after the birth of his first child, the creator desired to bring improvement in safety and quality for toddler’s products and clothing. Babies are extremely delicate and what they wear and lives in play a crucial role to their development. The name of Cute Seal was sparked when his daughter shouted “Seal!” to her diapers, which triggered an idea to associate the shape of the diapers with little adorable seals.

COLLABORATION WITH VANCOUVER KIDS FASHION WEEK: Cute Seal showed their adorable collection at SS17 Vancouver Kids Fashion Week. Moreover, they provided a DIY Diaper workshop on Saturday, September 24th. Blank, white diapers were presented at the workshop so all participants can draw their own designs onto them! Participants had a lot of fun and the best design will soon be selected by the brand’s representatives and be printed for their next design launch.

What is the meaning behind Blake & Riley? Why did you choose this as the name of your boutique? 为什么将品牌命名为Blake &Riley 呢？其背后的意义是什么？

Blake & Riley are our kids’ names. We want to bring Kids deserve to dress well too! We believe that the way as much warmth and loveliness into peoples’ homes as you dress affects the way that you interact with the world, so we’re more than happy that people are paying they have brought into ours. Blake & Riley 是我们孩子的名字。我们希望可以尽可能多的带给 attention to their kids’ style. 所有人温暖和关爱就像他们带给我们的感受一样。

What was the main inspiration behind in establishing your boutique? 请问您开立这家店的灵感源自于什么？

Our inspiration is derived from the high speed fashion world of Seoul. We’re a Korean-Canadian couple who lived in South Korea for ten years before returning to Vancouver. In launching our brand, we wanted to provide access to the dynamism of fashion within the world’s’ mega cities, while at the same time maintaining our connection with our old home.

我们的灵感源自于首尔高速发展的时尚业。我是韩国人，我的另一半是加拿大人，在来温哥华之前我们住在韩国已经大概有10年了。其实我们推出我们的品牌目的不光是展示大都市的时尚魅力与活力，也希望可以同时维持住和我们原有家园的联系。

Fashion with a purpose.. in partnership with BC Children’s Hospital Foundation

Our organization believes that fashion shouldn’t just be a luxury, it can also be a philanthropy. Vancouver Kids Fashion Week is proud to collaborate with BC Children’s Hospital. This charity organization is located in Vancouver, BC and works with children and families in British Columbia each year to raise funds to support children’s health and well-being. Taylor Hamelin, a young cancer survivor from BC Children’s Hospital, was one of the models that have walked for us during the event. A portion of our ticket sales was donated to help the children in need.

Clothes aren’t the only important thing when it comes to fashion, particular makeup and hairstyles express and complete the designer’s look book. Along with adorable kids clothing collections, three simple and easy-to-do hairstyles were spotted on the kid models during the show. 穿着搭配为体现时尚品味及自我风格的一个重要方式之一，但妆容和发型也是展示自我不可或缺的一部分。在此次儿童时装周中，有三种发型脱颖而出成为流行趋势。这三种发型皆有一个共同点：突显脸部轮廓，而且对妈妈们来说，这也都是十分容易打理以及上手的发型。

#01 braids

Whether it’s in a ponytail, pigtail, waterfall, French and so on, braids are definitely one of out go-to hair fix! Braids were definitely widely seen in kids models for designers such as Little Miss Aoki and Paper Girl Collection, as they strutted down the runway. Braids adds texture, volume, and is extremely convenient, as it holds the hair in place! The lovely thing about hair buns is that they are extremely versatile. Buns can be worn formally or just to have the hair out of the way for a very effortless, casual look. Kid models for designers such as House Farola and Mu Zhen Liao had their laid-back and elegant hair buns for their looks. Buns are also a good alternative as it completely holds the hair in one place and can feel very refreshing for the child. MAKE-UP TRENDS FROM THE VFW RUNWAY The Dark Side

Darker looks tend to be a returning makeup trend for the Fall Season. The black eyeliner is coming back and it’s coming back with a vengeance. Don’t be scared to use it on your waterline or to apply it a little bit thicker than before. Also, spread those wings! This season we’re seeing eyeliner wings way out past your lash line . Black isn’t just for the eyes, the lips are going dark too! And we don’t mean a deep maroon color, but actual black. The darker it is, the better. There tends to be a stigma, especially for mothers in wearing darker colored lipsticks and intense eyeliner. Don’t hesitate to try out a darker look and any makeup looks can be worn by anybody! If a darker look seems intimidating for everyday, then at least try to give it a go on special occasions. The “no makeup” Look

Of course, we can’t forget about the natural look. The natural, “no makeup” look is extremely easy to wear for everyone at anytime. For this look, it is important to not to hide the beauty of your skin. If foundations are too heavy and inconvenient to use for everyday, try using a BB powder ($25) or Magic BB Cream ($25) by Ana V Beauty. BB creams are good because they usually give a sheer coverage that were made for people to use it on-the-go. Also, don’t neglect the importance of highlighting! Our kids show doesn’t only focus in the kids fashion industry, we also aim to create a platform to encourage young talents to express their creativity. Ella Bai: I think I was around 2 years old when I first felt drawn into music.

Our Kids Show ran for two days, from September 24th to 25th, in Chinese Cultural Centre, located in East downtown Vancouver. VKFW wants to thank everyone who have participated in our first official launch of the kids show!! We’re off to a great start with an amazing first season! Our show would not have been possible without the help from wonderful kids models, parents, backstage staff, young talents such as Jeffrey Li, Kid DJ Ella, and Kid Emcees, not to forget our sponsors, partners, and designers.

9月24日到25日，在位于东温的中华文化中心，结束了为期两天的温哥华儿童时装周。VKFW在这里由衷地感谢参与了首届时装周的伙各位，让我们有了一个好的开始！此次活动能顺利举办，归功于所有儿童模特的贡献、家长们的参与、幕后工作人员的认真负责、杰出表演嘉宾李成宇、儿童DJ Ella、儿童主持人、赞助商们以及设计师们的大力支持。

Our backstage team had a great time working with all of the wonderful models and getting them runway ready. We often forget as the audience can’t see all

NWAY RECAP! of the hard work and magic that happens backstage. All backstage staff and models have to collaborate with each other to get the show running! Between the final clothes fitting, makeup and hair, a lot happens before the models walk down the runway. With the help from the hairstylists from ChungDam Beauty Salon and Gloria Kim and her make up assistants using makeup from AnaV Beauty, we were able to get all the models ready in time! Along with kid models, young talents such as emcees, singer Jeffrey Li, Kid DJ Ella were getting ready to perform backstage.

后台的奇妙时光

幕后团队在后台帮助儿童模特们做足准备的同时，也与他们度过了一段愉快的时光。作为观众的我们，看不到后台的辛劳，往往会忽略他们的努力。为了给观众呈现最好的舞台效果，试衣和妆发皆不容许丝毫差错，所以和模特的良好配合必然是整个秀正常运作的基石。在ChungDam Beauty Salon，Gloria Kim以及 AnaV Beauty化妆品的协助下，我们的模特随时都可以达到最佳状态。除了儿童模特，年轻的表演嘉宾（铁肺小歌王李成宇、小DJ Ella）以及小主持人们也都会在后台做好的准备。

Day one

Saturday, September 24th was the opening day of our Kids Show! There was a wide range of audiences- from excited parents and friends eager to see their kids perform on stage or to walk down the runway, our partners and sponsors, and people who just adore kids and that support the rising industry in kids fashion. On this day, we showcased six designers/brands: Cozy and comfortable look from Vonbon, tropical and vibrant summer pieces from House Farola, fun and sophisticated feminine pieces from Velveteen, unixsex swimwear from Lil Boo Apparel, street style look from Balloon Rouge, and lastly, upcycled pieces from City Kids Style! There were also a workshop provided by Cute Seal at the end of the show where kids could design their own diapers.

Now, let’s take a detailed look of our Day 1! 作为温哥华儿童时装周首秀第一天，9月24日是个难以忘记的日子。我们有幸迎来各界观众——兴奋的家长、尊敬的合作伙伴和赞助商们，以及热衷于儿童时尚的支持者们。在这一天，我们总共展示了六个童装品牌：主打舒适、休闲的Vonbon; 热情且充满活力的House Farola; 有趣又精细的Velveteen; 专业优质的泳装品牌Lil Boo Apparel；摇滚又浪漫的Ballon Rouge;拼接风格的City Kids Style. 当然不要忘记还有Cute seal提供的workshop,可以让小朋友们充分发挥他们的创意，设计自己喜爱的纸尿裤。接下来就让我们仔细来看看这些Look吧！

Recycling gets a new look with the help of City Kid Style! The designer recreates and gives the otherwise forsaken fabrics new life in this collection. Sunday was the last day of our kids show. On this day, we presented seven designers/brands: adorable sleepwear and diaper collection from Cute Seal, fairytale and princess dresses from Little Miss Aoki (presented by Adore Fashions), mysterious traditional Chinese apparels from Mu Zhen Liao, simple and soft styles from Lanvin (presented by Adore Fashions), outdoor jackets from Moncler (presented by Adore Fashions), and organic sleepwear from

Little Miss Aoki creates a whimsical and fairytale like collection using feminine designs with pastel colours, flowers and lace so that every girl can feel like a princess. Little Miss Aoki用印花、蕾丝、和蓬松的裙摆设计打造出了一个童话般的梦幻世界，让每个穿上衣服的女孩都觉得自己是世界上最完美的公主。

Nature Colored

Nature Colored’s SS17 collections embodies everything you would expect from the name itself. It focuses in providing comfort while wearing natural organic cotton clothes. The brand contains a variety of garments so that, from bedtime to play time, your child can enjoy the luxury and comfort of the Nature Colored Collection. Nature Colored的服装皆使用无任何化学成份的有机棉所制，其简易设计以及舒适度是品牌的重点。设计师表示，品牌主要采用了温和、中性的色调结合柔软的材质，无论是睡衣还是日常装都能满足小朋友们的需要。

Paper Girl Collection

Last but not least, we had Paper Girl Collection as the last designer to close our show. The paper Girl Collection is committed to storytelling. Each piece is inspired by different cultures that the designer has encountered and represents a new adventure. Each outfit is a whimsical memory and a new world to be discovered. 品牌宗旨为衣服也会说故事的Paper Girl Collection为此次儿童时装周画上了圆满的句号。设计师采集灵感于自身所经历的不同文化交织，每一样作品都是一段探索，每一件衣服都叙说着一段妙趣横生的记忆，都像是一个新的世界等待着你去发掘。

Workshop: Cute Seal

Cute Seal set up a workshop after the kids show for participants to design a diaper style. Many kids participated and all of the diapers designed were donated by Cute Seal to the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation! Thank you to everyone who participated! 在温哥华儿童时装秀举办后Cute Seal建立了一间小作坊, 让所有参加活动的小朋友们可以在这里DIY自己喜欢的纸尿裤，很多小朋友们都表示很享受当一个小设计师的感觉。当然更有意义的一点是，所有设计过的纸尿裤都会捐赠给卑诗省儿童医院。在这里温哥华儿童时装周诚心感谢所有参与设计的小天使们。

Feng Feng Academy is the largest kids and adults model training academy and Agency in BC. It is founded and run by Teacher Feng Feng who was one of the top models in China. She left her successful career as a super model behind in China and started a stellar career here in Canada as an artistic director, executive producer and style consultant for a variety of high level fashion shows and competitions. Synergy BeauCare Clinic has been a big supporter of Vancouver Kids Fashion Week. We have interviewed our wonderful Maggie, the director of Synergy BeauCare Clinic, located on West 4th Avenue. Q: You are a mother of two. How do you manage to take care of your child and be a successful business woman at the same time? 身为两个孩子的母亲，您是如何在照顾孩子以及成就自己的事业中取得平衡？ I am a mom with two kids, one is five, and the other is seven. It was a really a big challenge for me to arrange everything when I first started my own business. Slowly, I became used to dealing with my work schedule and gained a lot of support from my children and husband. I began to workout everyday, except for when taking care of my children and operating the clinic. After several years of hard work, I started benefitting a lot and my work team has become more and more cohesive, making my whole family proud of me and bringing a lot of positive energy to the moms surrounding me. To see my clinic become more and more well-known, gave me a lot of relief and awarded since I wasn’t able to take any vacations.

我是2个孩子的妈妈，一个5岁，一个7岁。在创业初期，如何同时照顾好孩子、家庭、生意和自己，对于一个我来说确实非常挑战。但慢慢的我学会了合理的安排时间，也得到孩子和先生的理解和支持。每天除了照顾孩子的学习和起居和打理诊所的事宜之外，我坚持每天健身，几年下来，我发现受益良多。我的工作团队越来越有凝聚力，孩子和先生也以我为荣，同时也带给身边的妈妈们很多的正能量，这些都需要努力和坚持才能实现，我基本像 7-11，全年无休，但是我很乐意这样做，看到我的团队越来越多的服务于更多的患者，欣慰大于辛苦！ Q: Are there any beauty advice that you want to give to working mothers? 你有任何建议想提供给跟你一样的职场妈妈们么？ First, I want to highly recommend to all moms to work out everyday, for at least one hour per day. I think working out has the highest rate of return. When mothers feel confident and beautiful; the kids will reflect the optimism, and all the problem at work will seem easier to sort out. Second, moms have to maintain a young mindset. Chasing beauty has no limitation of age and time. Nowadays, medical beauty is a fashion trend but it is really important to choose a safe and trustworthy clinic.
