END OF THE YEAR TRAINING ROLL-UP Submitted by Brian Bilheimer, VAVRS Training Coordinator A great, and very busy year of training here at the VAVRS has come to an end. The VAVRS has trained many EMS providers, firefighters, law enforcement personnel, medical professionals, and personnel working for departments of public safety from multiple counties throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Classes have included everything from basic EVOC classes to Advanced Vertical Rescue – Technician Level classes. The Association has supported three different district training weekends, as well as hosted a training day for Continuing Education (CE) hours at the VAVRS State Office and Training Center in Oilville, VA. The newly elected VAVRS President, John Craig, held a VAVRS Officers Workshop in November for all new and current VAVRS officers, with the intent of ensuring that all officers are aware of their roles and responsibilities within the association. We are very proud of the year we just finished and very excited about this year.
