Chairman’s Report
The Grand Garden Party was well attended with many things of interest both to watch, and do, from a demonstration of sheepdog mustering up and down the adjacent hill, to ringing the bell with a very large hammer. How to do this was well demonstrated by one of our well-built members who rang it eight times in succession. The venue for the occasion was the homestead gardens of Lyndsey Saunders’ sister and her husband and our thanks go to them for their hospitality and our thanks to Lyndsey and Myra for their efforts in organising a very successful event.
The Annual Motorcycle and Commercial Rallies were well organised and ran on the same day. Regrettably, one of our motorcyclists was involved in an accident on the run and has suffered some broken bones and our best wishes for a rapid recovery go to him.

To round off a rather busy month, water supply on the property ran dry and on inspection it was found that a new well was the only answer. The good news is that a contractor who has helped with well activities in the past was engaged to do this in less than a week has sunk a 45 metre well and has water ready to be connected to the system and hopefully things in that area will return to normal. Thanks to the prudence of previous committees and treasurers, reserve funds are available to meet the quite considerable costs incurred.
Meantime, work continues on the upgrading of the clubrooms kitchen and it is hoped that these alterations will be completed before the end of the month.
