Chairman’s Report

At the March branch committee meeting, it was decided that winners of the branch trophies may either take them home for six months (after engraving) or leave them on display in the trophy cabinet at the clubrooms. Some members enjoy having them at home, while others don’t, so it’s good that there is now a choice. Wearing my “Trophy Custodian’s hat” - I record winners of the branch trophies, so once the six months are up, I will be contacting them for their return. Therefore, if you would like to collect your trophies (after the engraving) please contact me to make arrangements to pick them up. A couple of months ago, Jack Porter (with the support of Dorothy) took on the task of contacting new members to welcome them to the branch, arrange to meet them at noggins, or at an OCBC and generally make them feel at home. Along with Secretary Rod’s friendly welcome, this has been a great success with appreciative feedback being received. Thank you Jack for your valuable contribution to our branch. Our Annual Rally has been and gone and thanks are recorded to Club Captain Katryna and her family for making the day a success. (See page 24 for a report and page 28 for a list of trophy winners.) The OCBC (Old Cars Bikes and Coffee) was another successful event again this month. Anyone can bring their vehicle along (no matter what age and you don’t have to be a member) for others to admire and chat about. Being an outside event and still keeping within the current COVID requirements, it is a pleasure for all who attend.
