A word from the Editor Hello and welcome to Issue #13 ! We are excited that you are checking us out! This issue on the cover we have a prerunner style Toyota Tundra. This truck recently got some major suspension upgrades and we had the chance to tag along for the first shake down. The other ride we featured is one of the wildest Chevy Cruze builds I have seen. We made it out to the South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa's Car and Truck Show. This show was packed! There were tons of cars and trucks to check out and it was a family friendly and indoor show. You can also find some awesome shots from Vegas Drift by a local photographer Jordan Hunter so thanks to him for sharing! As usual we appreciate your love and support! he South Point Car & Truck Show presented by Star Nursery was a popular hit at the South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa! This show is held every year to benefit the Speedway Children’s Charities. The Speedway Children’s Charities is a nonprofit 501©(3) organization and provides funding for hundreds of non-profit organizations through the nation that meet the direct needs of children. The event is free to the public and typically runs all day from 10am-5pm. There was a good mixture of trucks, cars and motorcycles and it was mostly hot rods and classic style vehicles on display. The show entries always fill up early and I can see how. It was JAM packed there. They even fit in some awesome semi trucks. One of the coolest duos there was the South Point’s Dodge Ram Charger race truck along with their buggy. My second favorite setup was the Welderup’s Peterbilt Semi truck with one of their creations, a lifted 1968 Dodge Charger, on the back. Another cool setup was with a familiar car. Dean’s car was on our last issues cover. He brings out an entire display for his car including a full size mannequin and an authentic classic moonshine still. The trophies were also pretty cool made from random tools and car parts. Hope you enjoy some of the shots we grabbed while we were out there and if you get a chance go check it out next year! The show is family friendly.

O
ne of the coolest things about living in Vegas is living in the desert! Yes, we have to deal with the summer heat but we are also lucky enough to have tons of open desert around us to use recreationally. That makes Vegas a great home for a ton of prerunner style trucks. From mild lift kits with bigger tires to back halfed daily drivers and even full tube chassis trucks hit the desert out here. Joe Patti’s 2013 Toyota Tundra Crewmax Platinum very recently had a 3-link suspension setup done in the rear and we joined him and his team at Nefarious Kustoms for the first shake down. Joe grew up in a suburb of Chicago and worked in TV production for 15 years, finance and online marketing for 10 years after that and currently heads operations at Nefarious Kustoms. He is into shooting, offroading, scuba diving, mountain biking and rescue dogs. He was always into cars growing up thanks to his dad bringing home something new and different every year or so. They would go to as many car shows as possible. He got into off-roading the same way a ton of people did, through watching Ivan “Ironman” Stewart on TV. Growing up in Chicago there was no offroading so that was what gave him a taste. He did play the video games though and between that and TV he immediately fell in love with the speed, the danger, and the trucks themselves but never had the chance to be around them until moving to Las Vegas ten years ago. Fast forward to now and Joe has one bad ass Tundra! In 2013 he was looking into pick up trucks to make it easier to go out shooting in the desert around Vegas and his Toyota Avalon was not cutting it anymore. He was a fan of Toyota so he first started looking at Tacomas. He had a few friends with modified Tacos so he thought he found the right truck but after sitting in a few he realized he wouldn’t be comfortable in one as a daily driver since the shoulder room was limited. Boom! Tundra it was! To start of his plans were nothing too crazy, a simple lift and larger tires. After being around some more trucks and helping as pit support for some off-road races he changed his focus to something that can go fast in the desert. Over the past year or so that has been his goal and the build is still going. We asked Joe what his favorite memories are with the truck and he told us “ Prerunning sections of the 2018 Baja 1000 and the first time I jumped it. “ The truck currently has a total Chaos Front Long Travel Kit with King Coilovers and Bypass Shocks. The rear suspension is setup with an LSK Rampage Daily Driver 3-Link Kit paired up with King Coilovers, Bypass Shocks and Bump Stops. The truck has a body mount chop, Advanced Fiberglass Fenders and Mcneil Racing Bedsides for the body. He has custom front and rear bumpers build custom by Nefarious Kustoms. He is running Method 309 Grids 17x9 with some Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ P3 37” tires. The interior is stock for now with some added goodies such as a Ram Mount Ipad Mount for running the LeadNav GPS app with a Dual Electronics XGPS160 Skypro GPS Receiver. In the near future he plans to swap the front end out for an LSK LT Race Kit, add a supercharger, Auburn LSD, headers, interior cage and some other goodies. To top it all off, he matched up his ride with his inspiration by adding the Toyota Ivan Stewart style graphics to the bedside. It is awesome to check out another prerunner, something that not only looks good, but performs. These trucks can be show ready or be beat to crap and still look and function amazing. You can catch Joe in the desert offroading and having fun.

ar enthusiasts come in all shapes, colors and sizes, so do cars! Sometimes your ride is a dream car you have been saving up forever for, sometimes it’s a family hand me down, and sometimes it just happens. That is the case with Aj Riga’s super unique 2012 Chevy Cruze. Aj is 25 years old and his hometown is Las Vegas. He is a Sub Contractor for alarm systems. He likes to cook, spend time with his girlfriend and son, and of course work on his car. Growing up AJ was always exposed to sports. He played soccer since he was 5 years old. As he got older he would use his free time to play with Hot Wheels or Need For Speed on his Playstation. He loved the videogames because it reminded him of Fast and Furious. It built up his inspiration to own a car similar to the ones he would build in the video games. Aj has owned the Chevy Cruze for about 4 years now. He owned a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am prior but it was going through some major electrical issues. Around the same time he was expecting his son to be born. He knew he needed something more reliable and safe for the family. He went on the hunt for a new ride. He sat in a few cars and came across the Chevy Cruze at CarMax. It was what he needed as a family car plus it was a little sporty featuring the 6-speed manual. He jumped on the opportunity to invest in the Cruze. At the time he had no plans on doing what he has done with it but he is happy that he has given the car its chance to shine. It has been about two years that he has been adding parts and working on his car. He discovered some Cruze’s on Instagram that he liked and that is what inspired him to build his up. After seeing those he knew he wanted to make his unique and not copy anyone. He wanted something that sounded different, looked aggressive and stood out in a crowd. We are always curious if the owners have any problems with their build so we asked AJ if he had any setbacks. He told us that a few months ago he thought his car blew a rod and he wasn’t sure if the warranty would cover it. He stripped the whole car down and even took off his coils. Lucky him, it turned out he did have some warranty left and was able to cover a bad water pump. Luckily it wasn’t a rod knock. After that he spent a few weeks getting his ride back together. The Cruze is rocking a 1.8 L engine pushing 162hp. To give the engine a little pick me up he added a K&N Intake and NGK Spark Plugs. He has the car riding on Godspeed Mono SS Coils on all 4 corners to give it that extra low stance. The wheels are 17 inch Drag Wheels. If you look closely or maybe not closely, you can see the big ole spoiler mounted to the trunk. This is actually a 2014 Subaru WRX wing. You will also find a 42” curved LED bar, LED eagle eye DRL’s, Bluetooth RGB grill under glow, front canards, side skirt extensions and custom aero winglets by Crzz Designs. If we go to the inside we will find a bunch of trim modified to black and
teal with Bluetooth under-glow by your feet. For the stereo the car has a 2200 Watt Lanzar Audio Amp, Kicker interior speakers, Kenwood audio tweeters, dual Kenwood Exceleon subwoofers in a ported box and a tablet mount. This Cruze stood out from the crowd which is what made me want to feature it. It isn’t always the most high horsepower or most expensive rides that can shine, sometimes the families ride is just as unique. You can catch AJ and his family cruising to the car meets and Mt Charleston, eating homemade Korean BBQ or out adventuring the desert.
