Welcome to Camp! Take a look at what we did today

Today was a busy day! We began with an activity listing the pros and cons of the products for Goldilocks and the Three Bears created yesterday. Teams took into account the stability, the materials, and even the budget. This helped each group organize themselves and plan for the day! Next we brainstormed how to improve our design. This helps students practice improving their projects and encourages team work. Together we then read Humpty Dumpty. Everyone then had the opportunity to break into groups to brainstorm ideas for a wall that is 36 inches tall. We know our students all love Humpty Dumpty and don’t want him to break, so we challenged each group to design a safety device for him to fall safely to the ground. This is important because campers were able to take a story they were familiar with and work to create something new within it. This activity also taught students to work within certain constraints, something that is very applicable to the real world of entrepreneurship! The rest of the day was spent building both the wall and the safety device. Everyone had so much fun working together to solve a problem for Humpty Dumpty. Their final products were all fantastic, and we can wait to show them to you.

Continue Learning: Questions to ask about today Working with customers is fun! Tell me about what your customer asked for with the device for Humpty Dumpty? Did they ask for more later? Did you change your design at all during the day? Creating and improving your product is always important! What did you learn about doing the pros and cons of your chair from yesterday? What did you construct your wall out of? How did you make your wall stand up? Did you make the safety device out of the same material? What did you change while building?
