MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR It is a busy and exciting time here at the VPAG! We have a lot of work going on behind the scenes preparing for our upcoming capital campaign for our new facility. Currently, we are holding meetings with potential donors and planning some exciting new events such as our VPAG Masquerade & Costume Ball scheduled for October. Our AGM will be taking place on April 21st so be sure to come out for that and hear about some of our recent highlights and upcoming plans. We will have our new strategic plan available for those who are interested in our long-term vision for the gallery. I’d like to welcome our new Marketing & Events Coordinator, Moozhan Ahmadzadegan. Please, stop by the gallery and say hello. I’m excited to welcome Bryan Ryley back to the VPAG with his exhibition Morning Briefing. A series of paintings were constructed around emotional responses to the social climate of late 2018 and early 2019. Our annual spring exhibitions, Art & Soul, and Art from the Heart, from School District #22 High school and Elementary Students will provide the youth of our community with the opportunity to showcase their artistic talent within the walls of a professional art gallery. Fast approaching is our annual fundraiser, Midsummer’s Eve of the Arts, on July 15, so mark your calendars! We are looking forward to another great evening at the Mackie Lake House. If you would like to volunteer or donate artwork or packages to this year’s MEA please contact us at the gallery. This event continues its success because of the help and generosity of our community. Once again thank you to our sponsors and funders who help ensure we can continue to provide quality programming to our community. See you at the VPAG! Dauna Kennedy, Executive Director

BRYAN RYLEY Morning Briefing March 12 - May 13 Bryan Ryley is a Vernon based artist whose work moves back and forth between three media - painting, drawing and collage. Morning Briefing is a series of paintings constructed around emotional responses to the social climate of late 2018 and early 2019. They are really gestalts of feelings and forms, gatherings of emotions and structures, physical weights and surfaces that have been personally felt, driven by the social and political climate of these times. The Vernon Public Art Gallery invites you to the opening reception of Morning Briefing on March 12th from 6-8 PM. The artist will be in attendance. Enjoy the new exhibition, drinks, appetizers and music.
