Sandsprit Park in Stuart was the venue for the 75th anniversary of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 59, a unit dedicated to helping save lives and educate boaters. An open house was held for visitors to view the Auxiliary building, and the Martin
County Sheriff’s Office Grill Team served up a free barbecue lunch to the community. Martin County first-responder vehicles were on hand to view and tour. There was even an appearance by “Coastie,” a remote-controlled boat character.
