It is because of the generosity of all of you that Rosary High School continues to be one of the top high schools in the state of Illinois. Donations to Rosary High School make a significant impact on not only our ability to continue operations but advance Rosary’s curriculum and programs into the future. Staying ahead of the curve is why parents continue to choose Rosary for their daughters and is what will continue to be the best choice in our area. Gifts to every department, fund, and/or scholarship go directly to our students. These gifts are utilized to develop each student, and focus on service, academics, athletics, spirituality and fine arts. Highlights of 2014-15 Smithsonian Film Crew Visits Rosary A film crew from the Smithsonian visited Rosary High School in November, 2014, to speak with students from the Honors World History classes who participated in the online Smithsonian Quest program. World History teacher Mrs. Stephanie Krzeminski combined the Smithsonian Quest program, an online learning platform that challenges students to complete a series of quests in a given category or topic, with her first semester artifact project.
Three Named National Merit Finalists Three Rosary seniors— Alyssa Mertka, Rachel Neff, and Isabelle Ylo— were named finalists in the 60th Annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Two students— Melody FisherLewek and Heather Hawkins—were named commended students in the program.
Rosary students have been working with the Smithsonian Learning Initiative program since 2012. The program is connected to the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C.—the country’s premiere museum. Rosary was one of five schools in the nation chosen for a visit.
Ensemble Wins High Marks at IHSA The Rosary Ensemble earned a Division I Superior Rating at the IHSA Solo and Ensemble Contest March 7th in Huntley. Ensemble also won the Best of the Day Award in recognition of the most Superior Musical Performance heard that day by their judge.
WYSE Team Places Fifth at State Rosary’s WYSE Team (Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering) earned fifth place at the state competition at the University of Illinois. Our students placed in Chemistry, English and Physics. The team took first place at regionals and first place at sectionals before advancing to the state meet.
Math Team Competes at State ICTM Contest The Rosary Math Team finished in 11th place overall in Division 1A in the state math competition sponsored by the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics held in May at the University of Illinois.
Fall Musical Performs to Sell-Out Crowds The four performances of Rosary’s fall musical, Cinderella, the Enchanted Edition, November 7-9, 2014, delighted capacity crowds. The weekend featured a character breakfast and a wine tasting fundraiser.

Highlights of 2014-15 Band Earns Top Awards at State Marmion-Rosary Band members earned 27 gold medals at the WSMA (Wisconsin School Music Association) state solo and ensemble competition in March. The Marmion-Rosary Wind Ensemble received a Class A first division award at the IHSA State Tournament in April 17 All judges gave the band first division scores. The Marching Band earned first place in parade competition and fourth in field show in Marengo in October and sixth in field competition in Sandwich in October.
Cross Country Runners Finish in Top 16 at State Two Rosary runners, Emily Martin and Madison Ronzone, finished in the top 16 at the State Tournament.
Basketball Team Finishes Season in Super 16 Royals basketball were regional champions and progressed to sectional finals which is a first for the program. They finished the season in the Super 16 in the state.
Tennis Duo Represents Rosary at State Meet The doubles team of Megan Conlin and Maddie Deufel qualified for the state tournament.
Track Team Finishes 8th at State
Beads Swim Team Finishes Second at State The Rosary BEADS Swim team took second place at the IHSA State Swimming & Diving Championships in November. This is the 13th top-three finish, and the 13th state trophy for the Rosary Swim Team. Only two other schools have won more state trophies! Alexis Yager was the State Champion in the 200 IM.
Royals Volleyball Wins Regionals Rosary’s volleyball team was named regional champions.

The Royals Track team was Conference Champions and Class 2A Sectional Champions. Ten athletes qualified for state in seven events, and the team finished eighth at the IHSA state meet. Emily Martin was the State Champion in the 1600m run, and Madison Ronzone finished second in the 1600m.
Twelve are NCAA Scholarship Athletes Twelve Rosary athletes earned NCAA scholarships to pursue their sport at the college level.
Veritas Society Veritas Society Membership Veritas is the Latin word for truth, which is the guiding principle behind the mission of Rosary High School. Veritas Members are the foundation of the Rosary Appeal. Membership is open to all alumnae, individuals, families, and businesses who make an annual gift of $1000 or more to the Rosary Appeal. Each year, Rosary counts on leadership gifts such as these to provide program enhancements in the areas of technology, faculty enrichment, scholarships, and student activities.
